Thanks for the feedback Chris I'm aware that the surface colour will quickly be rubbed away leaving the rest of the disc protected, just how I want it to look 25k! I've not done that in all my 9 years of LE ownership! Let's hope I like the painted hole effect I was looking into Black Diamond Predator pads tonight, anybody?........ The feedback seems positive, so does the price

Predator used to be decent until they changed their compound a couple of years ago. Last time I used them with the new compound they were shocking and I'm not the only one to have noticed this. If you don't want to compromise on cost I'd go for ds3000. Best pads I've ever used although I'm not sure if they are road legal now. Work great with plain Brembo discs.

I had all of my brakes replaced about 3 weeks ago and have been really impressed...... Front & Rear disks = Mtec dimpled and grooved Front & Rear pads = OMP Road & Sport The brakes feel good from cold, hold up really well after a good blast on country roads and all with very little dust and no squealing! You really couldn't ask or want any more for fast road use. I'm probably running around 260 - 270Bhp with current boost levels. I can't comment how they would hold up to track use. So if you can find the OMP pads in stock anywhere i'd stock up! This is where i bought them from YB RACING WEBSITE , but they are currently out of stock. YBracing also give a 10% discount with code MY10

I use the omp road and sport pads and suffered fade with them on the road so changed to yellow stuff , I had to grind the rear pads as they didn't fit the caliper even after checking they would fit .

Why do you think the OMPs are so bad?? I don't think I know As to why: - bad pedal feel (wooden) - not progressive nor consistent - terrible when hot and they just give up without a notice - bad performance when totally cold

Having sourced the MTEC discs myself, my local garage fitted whatever he could get hold of which I seem to recall were Mintex. They WILL stop the car but don't inspire me with confidence!

I don't think I know As to why: - bad pedal feel (wooden) - not progressive nor consistent - terrible when hot and they just give up without a notice - bad performance when totally cold totally agree, they gave me no confidence in braking from a high speed . Well i'm surprised that you both found them to be so bad, as I have been really impressed with them?! I have been on decent back road drives this Friday and Saturday, then have just spent the afternoon driving around the Yorkshire Dales (including 2 trips over the Buttertubs Pass! ). The brakes have behaved impeccably on all occasions! I also use my car as my daily driver and am getting good performance from cold first thing on a morning and evening. So there must be a big difference in our setups somewhere?
