Sorry to hear that Baz, you were looking after yours which is more than many we see scattered around these days. You went "for something completely different" I see - hope you've enjoyed your coop ownership though Give us a wave if you see us in Falkirk!

Enjoy the Z4, completely different beast to the Coupe, my other half had a black hard top one when I first met her, you need a man with a flag to stand in front of the car so you know where the bonnet ends when you're parking. True. And if he would point the flag in the direction that the wheels are facing, then that would be nice too because you sure as hell can't tell otherwise My short drive of one revealed that it was nowhere near as communicative as the 350Z or indeed my Coupé. Quite pointy though nonetheless - it felt a darn sight more agile than both
F****** b****** thing...

The Z4 is a cracking car. Had mine Nearly 4 years now. Still away to go to beat my 9 years with the Coupe though. PS Hopefully see you on the Z4Forum.

I don't know what it is about these Italian cars but they make me feel like a traitor because I have bought something German.I have had lots of comments since getting my new car mostly positive. The thing that bugs me is everyone saying you are better getting rid of that old crappy fiat anyway.I don't know what it is but I feel a massive loyalty to Italian cars and I end up sticking up for my coupe.I have had many Italian cars in my time including 4 fiat uno turbos, fiat strada 105tc,lancia delta gtie,2 lancia thema turbos, fiat x19,and of course a lancia delta integrale. The thing is none of them have got under my skin like a coupe these cars are stunning looking and in 20vt form are giant killers in terms of performance. The only reason I am selling up is I am to picky I like things mint I hate taking bumpers of and looking at rust and I just don't have the time to tidy it up.

If it's an original shape Z4, clear the roof drains, stops the motor failing.

Great car the Z4. Much prefer the shape to the z3. Cant you get into the mindset of "preservation" for the coupe? Put it away for the winter and save up to have all the mintyness sorted. Keep her as your coveted classic to be brought out on special occasions. Costs nothing to store off the road if you have the space of course. We don't have the space, but the father inlaw does have an empty garage! So guess where my coupe is going soon?

I have someone coming to view the coupe tomorrow I fear this may be the beginning of the end I tried to sell mine once. Poor bloke drove form London to Cornwall, offered me the full asking price and I ended up giving him £60 for petrol and apologizing, cos I couldn't let it go. Eventually the oil pump failed and the big end went on 149k miles and I just couldn't bring myself to shell out for the new engine that was required, so I gave it to my mechanic. Good luck the Z4 is a great car. My ///MR is both much quicker and far more reliable than my Coupe ever was. But it doesn't sound as good and it will never have an Italian soul.
