Hi Mungo,
I have had interest, just waiting on a few replies from text messages.
Seems my location is an issue for a lot of potential buyers - just got to decide what to do tomorrow when the insurance is up. I'll either MOT it for 12 months and wait for a good price while being SORN'ed, or find a good home as it is.

Has anyone on the forum gone to check that car from ebay out?
I'm looking for a coupe and the Milage and 1 owner sound appealing, but that doesn't always mean that the code has been looked after.
He said the cambelt was replaced in 2008, for peace of mind I'm assuming that would need replacing?
Thanks, Dan

every 5 years or 60k , whatever comes first . so its well over due . Yeah I thought so. Only thing is I'm in essex and the car is in Kidderminster and I can't get up there this week but he said he could deliver for £120 Only thing is I won't have the chance to view the car before buying it which is very risky. Any ideas on what I could do or how to go about it? I was going to suggest doing a deal with him based on the car getting fully checked over at power Italia, which is only 30 mins from me and if it checks out, purchase the car. Of course that's if he accepts that which i think will be a long shot

The deal with solo Italia thrown in sounds fair to me, but if you can go and see it first. There maybe someone willing to view who is local? Yeah I was hoping someone does live close to where the car is situated, but I'm new to the forum so don't really know anyone Only thing is for the £120, he's getting someone to drive it down, and me not knowing the person, could potentially rag it most of the way which I don't want.

could potentially rag it most of the way which I don't want. I wouldn't worry about that too much, you don't know how it has been treated for it's entire life anyway.

I will declare a conflict of interest. I have been trying to find time to see this car around work and getting my head straight. It is a good idea to get Solo Italia to check this out, but if you have already bought it then what is the incentive for the vendor to take it back if you are not happy with the outcome of the inspection? At £1395 it ain't going to be perfect; where's your tipping point? It will need belts £350, service £150 and then what- tyres, brakes, blow over... at what point are you going to reject? You would really need to agree with the vendor up front. If you do reject you are £120 down plus the return trip. Motormech are in Birmingham which is about 15-20 miles away. I haven't purchased it, just working out a sufficient way that will work for both parties. I'm aware of the price and what the car will need for a start but it was just due to a busy week where I haven't got the time for a 2.5 - 3 hour journey each way to view the car. Normally I will view a car before buying. As for motormech, I can't view the car regardless so that's why I suggested solo Italia as they are based near me and as the car was going to be delivered it would of made sense.
