Hi i just wanted oppinions on the prices i have been quoted to fix my Mondeo

It has failed on

Nearside outer Front CV joint gaiter (2.5.C.1a)
Nearside rear brake pipe excwssively corroded (3.6.B.2c)

I have been quoted £68.99 and £85.00 to do the jobs i thought that sounded reasonable

I have looked on the internet and the cv joint looks to be a pain also, the brake pipe i have never done one before, so best to leave it to somebody that should know what they are doing
This is at my local kwickfit which i know will fill people with horror but they all seem competent guys and this is the daily hack and not my Coupe

Cheers Rich frown

At those prices, you certainly aren't going to save enough for it to be worth paying a full retest fee at another garage....

Seems very reasonable for Kwik-fit . I dont see a local garage doing the job any cheaper .

Got it done for £130 at local garage that i have used a few times for the mondeo! i know its only £23 but it pays for the Chinese take away!
Now got another years mot hopefully i will be in a position to replace this car next year for something more suitable for my Wife she quite fancies a Mini but im not so sure but it will be totally her choice so we will see
Thanks for the replies

Cheers Rich
