http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-27687523Could it be that feminism is unnatural? Interesting how the subtle change of emphasis can deliver such a different message.

More Marxist nonsense from the Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda.
And a quote from the "Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities"... is it just me or is it entirely illogical that a position known as the "Minister for Women and Equalities" can even exist?

It all depends what reading of feminism you are using.
I don't think feminism would disagree that women are limited by a biological clock.
Feminism has been bourne out of academic discourse after all. So denying the scientific facts would be contrary to the principles of feminism.
I think the problem is trying to " have it all" in today's society is difficult unless you are well off. So the argument hinges more on socio economic status than gender inequality. This applies to both men and women.

I wasn't reading anything, other than the BBC article.
My personal impression about people today is that they demand everything, even against all the facts. Given the indisputable differences between the genders, in all sorts of respects, I am not clear what degree of 'equality' can realistically be expected.

Doctors will agree that the best time to have kids is generally below 30 due to various increased risks beyond that age. You only have to work in a diverse company to see all the women have children around the magic 30ish. There is still inequality. Particularly in the work place where maternity leave is now a right ( and rightly so) but there is no equivalent leave for those who choose not to ( or can't have) children. I seem to recall though that they are trying to redress the balance to allow men and women to share the maternity leave. There is some feeling that both men and womem have a raw deal especially of they do not have children. Having kids is not a disease after all, but a life choice. I would like to see a system which allows time off for Life events such as maternity/ paternity but also to do other life changing things which are not kids related.

Some already do this, although I don't think it's common. Unpaid 6 month leave to do whatever you like. Pretty sure it was on the list of 10 'best' companies to work for (which included Google, ebay, etc)

It would be fascinating to hear how you'd address that 'inequality'. I think that those adopting have the same legal right to paid leave as new parents (I'm sure Emjay will tell me if I'm wrong), so you could just adopt a new child every year and enjoy all of that stress-free paid leave
Dear monos, a secret truth.
