Hi Everyone ive been doing a bit of reading and i cant seem to decide whats the best option if my first option fails

1. repair my iphone 4
2 get a new iphone 5c 32gb £99 up front with unlimited data but with T mobile
3 get a new iphone 5S 16gb £99 up front with ONLY 2 gb data but with EE and 4G

Both options 2 and 3 are under £30 per month

Is the Iphone 5S noticably better than the 5C?

Is 4G noticeably better than 3G

And which company and coverage is the best or are they now identical i know they have sort of merged but never really fancied Tmobile over Orange/EE

Option 1 is a tall order as my phone button does not work and it keeps randomly ringing people, brought parts to fix but when trying to carefully remove the battery connector it pulled of the connector from the PCB (going by google this is fairly common) new bit ordered but dont fancy my chances soldering it back on without destroying it, but i will try!

Appreciate your opinions

Cheers confused

I find 4G so so. It's okay when I have it, but more often than not I only have 3G at best.

You need to ask yourself if you need the speed.

Yup 4g coverage seems alittle poor to be honest. I get 4-7mb a sec on 3g anyhow which is quick enough. No buffering seen..

I switched from orange to EE on a 4G contract. I don't really notice the difference between 3G and 4G. When I change again in October I'll not bother with 4G. It's a nice to have rather than a must have.

Ask yourself how often you need data outside of Wi-Fi.
Then buy a phone outright and then get a SIM only deal.

if you get 4g coverage then its awesome

its not just transfer speed, but also latency that improves

another consideration is that of you go for 3g, by the time your contract expires it will be like having a 2g / gsm connection by comparison.

also, more offerings are based on content, so expect sites etc to be more data and speed heavy

Don't know about 4G over 3G but the 5C is a decent step up from the 5C (which is a regular 5 but with a permanently attached bright cover on it).

It's noticeably quicker and has a far superior camera.

I wouldn't bother with 4G , its not that great and if like me you're not in a 4G area you will be paying for something you can't use

They charge a silly amount for it also

In the long run, it will be cheaper to get your phone fixed. But as already stated is it something you need or want?

I personally regret getting the contract and when it finally ends I wont be renewing.

3 have limited 4G coverage at the moment, and are rolling out during the year. They are not adding anything to the cost of a Tariff for 4G.

Thanks for your opinions guys really unsure as I'm thinking long term 3G is fine now but perhaps not in 2 years time so that's my dilemma now also any thoughts on ee or t mobile
Soldering went to plan surprisingly did not look pretty but it work but sadly even after replacing the recommended parts the home button still does not work so I think I need a new one lol
