I know coupes are not an investment, and that isn't why I bought mine...but still, they are pretty rare and utterly unique. Surely sooner or later values will go up right?? Sticking my 2cents in I think we have passed rock bottom, I think it's a slow and steady rise from here on in

I agree too. Actually, when you look at the prices of a lot of cars for sale, the coupe's (generally the LE and Plus versions) do relatively well for their age.
But, maybe, we need demand to outstrip supply!

It's interesting at the moment, there is Duffy's old Plus for sale at £6K and it has been for a while for some strange reason? Then there is is Westies Yellow Plus at £3.5K
Now, if you spent £2.5K on westies then it would still be no where near the condition of Duffy's old one. He basically rebuilt the entire car.

My one has stuck because the owner doesn't have a clue as to how to advertise it......
He's not even listed it as a turbo and the photo's are poor, at best.
I think that there is always a 'premium' market for a top spec car.
£6k is a lot less than he paid for it.

Who's going do it? I'm off abroad, so no point me doing it I think given the cars we've seen recently on there, our poor little cars probably don't have enough value in them. However it'd give the Coupé a massive kick in the right direction. Unfortunately I think our cars have got a bit longer til the prices are strong. We need the majority of the cars to be top end examples. Otherwise we'll continue to buy cheap, drive them til they break, then chop them up.

While I may on occasion *need* his broom, if only to sweep up the debris, I would like to state that there are many original parts on the car.
The driver, for one... Brilliant . But which level of trim did a Barnacle become standard fit; or was it a dealer option?

Yes he's really stuck to it hasn't he? Has he drawn a plimsol line around the sills? Judging by the reports of excessive wateryness coming from that general neck of the woods he's probably clinging on to a seatbelt in the current situation.

values are never going to rise significantly until we stop breaking them for spares and start projects that involve major welding to the bodywork. It's only a rule of thumb but it has served me well when valuing Mk1 Escorts, Minis, etc.
