Tis the season to be jolly & all that, being not far away.Aimed at the wine drinkers on here. Any bargain buys or really good wine finds. For me a really good fizz decently priced is Majestics rose undurraga. Full of flavour yet brut. For red a bargain glugger Asdas cab' sauv'. For the money a must.

Obviously tastes differs, but it would be interesting to see what people think...... drink

Hi, like you say its all down to taste
I generally go for wine from the southern hemisphere, for some reason they taste decent at a good price! in the uk!
Never really rated french wine sourced in the uk, but the french wine in france, even the cheap stuff is really nice, so kinda true that they only send the rubbish over!

New zealand wine is really nice and there are some nice Rioja's lurking about too

Favorite's are Australian wines but we are talking at the cheap end here!

We generally buy our wine at either tesco's asda or aldi
we buy the cheap stuff from aldi for our regular evening wine and if we see something elsewhere we will buy a decent one as a treat
The cheap stuff at aldi i think is better than the cheap stuff at the other stores and anything at the top end is hit or miss really, depending on price range.

I dont really have a bad word to say about aldi wine to be honest
If you have the time (perhaps a bit far for you!) go to france to the carrefour i was getting 10 litres for 12 euros and it was really nice stuff too ummm!
My mondeo boot was stuffed to the top! Sadly its all gone now cry drunk
Obviously this is my oppinion so not to everybody's taste

Cheers

I second the comment about Aldi wines, although they do change them about - but I've had a few bottles of the rioja they've been peddling at it's really nice and about £3.99 (i think) drunk

Tesco have a stunning deal on Veuve if you like bubbly. 18% off, plus a further 25% off when you buy two cases. My brother works for them so with his staff discount I got two cases for not much more than £20 a bottle. For that price you could pour it on your Christmas cornflakes.

The 25% off two cases (although they incorrectly think a case is 6 bottles) is on a large range of wines too. Their own Garnacha good in the £7 a bottle region. Think the offer runs out today though, so be quick.

Aye the Aldi wines tend to be half decent, their malbec is quite good. I tend to spend quite a lot on decent wine. There was a time I bought by the case & every now & again still do.

I remember years ago when Inverness still had Odbins, I came across a Chilean red wine called "una ferra" or something like that at £4.99 a bottle. Wow what a find, bought that by the case load & scored all over scotland for the stuff when our branch ran out.

The usual New Zealand sauv' blanc & other well known goodies are pretty much purchased, but I'm looking for the more obscure least known purchases that hit the spot.
