Seems eBay want to penalise the majority of fair and reasonable folk by the reactions of a few who load postage charges.
Rant over. Don't be silly, they just want to make more money. I'm surprised they haven't started charging for putting adverts on Gumtree, and in case you didn't know, eBay owns Gumtree.

I wish I owned ebay. Absolute money making genius. It is the perfect example of the addage "money for old rope" You place the advert. You pay for the advert. If it doesn't sell, you still have to pay. You pay a cost of the sale price. You pay for postage. Then you pay a fee for using the payment system. Ebay get the lot.. Oh, and in the end you get a few quid for what you sold.

I used to do quite a bit on eBay but as above trying to make any money is ridiculous. The big companies list for next to nothing, and there is no encouragement for new sellers financially. I sometimes buy but never bother selling nowadays.

I used to sell a few items in the past.. now its probably 3 or 4 things a year. I'd imagine that if a seller rights group were to take Ebay to court on the basis of Unfair (consumer) trading terms they could possibly be granted in their favour. Obviously it will be up to the seller to prove that they are a consumer, in this context, against Ebay. Ebay do nothing to add value to the means of posting a parcel and therefore have no justification for taking a cut. Its like 'protection money' in a way. I look at Ebid quite often now......... I just wish they could become just a teeny bit slicker to take over ebays/gumtrees/paypals dominance.
