But I'm off to Dubai for two weeks tomorrow with the family!

This time we are doing the full works Burj Khalifa, Burj al arab, Atlantis water park, The Creek, Dolphins etc etc

I'm lucky as the father-in-law works in Saudi but rents a place in the UAE to get his bacon and beer fix! So he has lent me his supercharged Range Rover again and booked us a villa! It's a long needed break as I've been working 60+ hours a week for the last 2 months and am starting to feel the side effects.
My 3 year old is so excited he won't sleep and we're still not packed - I'm still trying to decide if 3 kids and an 8 hour flight is the best idea in the world.

I'll report back with pictures if anyone is interested upon my return, until then I've disconnected the battery fro the coupe and I pray it will start when I get back.

Sounds like it'll be a good time! A little bit jealous. I've not made it out of the country this year.

I wouldn't worry about the coupé; that's what wing mirror spiders are for. They'll protect it in a lovely silk layer. And if they're anything like the one living in my passenger mirror, people will steer clear.

Cheers Szkom, having a relative out there has reduced the cost by around £10k (accom, car rental etc) so it's not all bad, it's turning into a constant battle between car and holiday cash!

Enjoy. I hope you have a better time out there than I did. I was on a stop over for a couple of days seeing the parents and the place just didn't do anything for me. Was impressed by the Burj though.

That was a very awkward photo to take laugh

Well we had a wonderful time!
We stayed in a village called al hamera about 90 km from Dubai in RAK. We did the atlantice water park, both burj's the view from the top of the big one is awesome as is the 10m/s lift that raises you! The service at the the hotel was amazing, no celebs were spotted though. Saw a beautiful gullwing as well as many supercars. Also met the king of Qatar in the local boozer in RAK. The range rover gave 15 mpg but at 21 pence a litre who gives a shit! There are so many 6l + yank tanks howling round its just incredible. I'll dump some pics on shortly for anyone interested.

The Airbus a380 - all I can say is this plane should not land at Manchester airport. Jesus, the stopping power it has, the water the thing sucked off the runway and through the airbrakes was immense, it's the only plane I've been on where I didn't think it would stop then came braking phase 2 which felt more like hitting a wall than a plane slowing.

Oh and the coupe fired up first crack :-)

Nope, was lying on the floor near the fountains. We had been having lunch over nearby in some traditional style building. Not that really helps pin point where we were laugh
