Car looks really nice jame5. As far as I could tell, the legal side relates to the Font, spacing and the absence of unauthorized badges. I considered the Carbon and Black Gel 3D Resin Number Plates found here Plates for Cars Front plate location makes a nice change from on the dash, which I see on some cars.

Thanks KBT, i think the front plate needs to be less angled and maybe a little smaller but i think it looks better lower down. Got my plates from ebay

My first thought was the the plate looks like it will duct air in nicely. I confess I did wonder if it would behave like one of those spoilers that pop up at a certain speed My front plate was chosen to de-shroud the spoiler vents, as far as I know it is legal and measures 406x89mm.

i'm sure to be legal the place the plates were made has to be on the bottom? Pretty sure that only applies to cars registered post 1st September 2001..... And 3D plates are legal.

I'm impressed that you managed to clean up the old glue from the front bumper using only a bottle of Buxton water!

Ha ha, that actually took half a bottle of meths and a lot of elbow grease! That stuff is a nightmare to shift I will certainly think twice before using it again. Was it worse than the sticky labels for Wing & Wheels James?

Don't think so, I've seen loads of new vehicles with no screws on their number plates.

Is there a regulation that requires them to be fixed with a screw or can they be applied solely with the double sided sponge tape? No fixing regs as far as what you use for the job......Though screws will hold better. I've already lost one front plate from using sticky pads. The front plate is fairly exposed - I just can't bring myself to screw holes into my lovely bumper
