I know it's too soon to be booking it but the MOT is due in November on the car (my partners but I use it all the time) and I'm just laying out a budget for the next few months.
I can't find the Cert and the Govs website says it can't find any trace of the test being done!!! My partner is SURE he had it done in November but I wasn't there. He took it to Kwik Fit and did something to it but I don't know what?! There's no documents for it and I'm worried he just serviced it rather than MOT'd it. (He's a bit thick when it comes to cars)
Now I've been driving a car since November last year with no MOT. I've done a fair few miles in it too.
Just a thought, any reason why this could not be showing (if it does have an MOT) and wouldn't I have been stopped by the police if it had no MOT? Or do they only check Tax and Insurance.
Uh, Men!!! Haha

When was it last taxed? You cannot get Tax without a valid MoT certificate being recorded. ANPR systems will pick up no MoT as well!

It was taxed last October before the MOT so wasn't needed as the car is a 59 plate. It was the first MOT. I'm pretty sure I saw it when it was done and I think we've done enough miles in it to have been stopped by the police if it didn't have one. Driving to Scotland and back in it

I've managed to drive nearly a whole year without an MOT and I didn't get stopped over it. I only discovered that I hadn't done it when I was looking for the MOT certificate in order to get the tax done 11 months later. I'd taxed it just before the MOT was due but then a combination of having just moved house followed immediately by loads of back to back business travel and holidays meant I clean forgot over the summer. Insurance went through fine and it was only 11 months later that I realised due to not having any bank records of garage payments when the MOT was due. Whoops! This was about ~13 years ago though so before the MOTs got to be held on a database like they are now.
Up yours Photobucket.

https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history-vehicleYou’ll need the vehicle registration mark and either: - the MOT test number (you can get this from the VT20 test certificate or the VT30 refusal certificate) - the document reference number from the V5C registration certificate (logbook) if you don’t have the MOT test number

Yep, definitely wouldn't be insured, I should know. Well, no driving until pay day. Can't afford it until then. Car will have to sit in the underground car park for a while...

I wouldn't worry, the police in brum are more bothered with street racing than anything else at the moment with all the covert operations they set up lol!! And there are MOT vans!! VOSAhighway officers mostly on motorways and dual carriageways!! Even if you do get pulled they will only say get it done here's a producer or give you a £30 fine which is the maximum penalty provided you don't have bald tyres and sharp edges that endanger life (lol)

Well yes, I suppose that is an alternative, but not one that would be condoned on this forum.

Well, believe it or not. Motormech is actually the closest garage to me.
Guess I'll be giving them a call for the MOT in Oct.

You may not have been pulled over because the car is 59 plate, I'm pretty certain the first MOT has to be done at 3 years old but could legally be done the day before the car's 4th birthday. If this is true it could only just be turning 4 now.

No, an MOT test is due on the 3rd anniversary of first registration.
