Ive been told the part numbers are different. As far i know the fitment is the same so does this suggest the damping is different?

It does. Going the other way 16vt Monroe shocks fit the 20vt but feel under damped.

I inquired about this at integrale.org who sell them. Here's the response:

The technical office has informed me the 2.0Turbo 16V and the 2.0Turbo 20V are nearly the same.
The only thing that changes is the inclination of the holes (really little difference). Usually in Italy they have no trouble to sell each type instead of the other….
But I don’t know for you and I will ask our techs for further advice if we can offer any if so required, but you may be best to get further advice from a Fiat specialist as to whether standard shocks are easily interchangeable between the mode
ls.

this implies that shocks are not precisely interchangeable between 16vt and 20vt, something that has been disproved on this forum. He didnt mention damping.

Are there any 16vt owners running 20vt shocks who can comment on this?

That is the difference between narrow and wide track Tipo platforms. You can fit 16VT shocks on a Tipo/Dedra etc but it will have incorrect camber.

So fitting 20vt shocks to a 16vt could change the camber?

Strange, as I thought other shocks ie billies had the same part number for for both cars.

No, I don't think so as all Coupes have the same track (wide track).

Tipos/Dedras have the narrow track, as such the shocks are physically interchangeable with Coupes, but the holes (as described by integrale.org) are in a different location so they are unsuitable. I think they are getting confused there.

Sorry to hijack the thread but just want to know what made you choose Osrav over other shocks - I'm looking to upgrade the suspension on my 20VT and considering options so would welcome opinions.

OSRAV have had good reviews by forum members and are relatively low cost. Most favour the more expensive adjustable kit but im going for the fixed.
