As above,,I was looking over a lovely pearl white 370z parked in car park when owner turned up! He said he couldnt start it,,one of those smart key things,,put key fobby bit into the vaginal reciptcal thing but car would not start,,kept showing locked codes and all sorts of things!
We looked through the hand book troubleshooting area tried all sorts of things with the smart key,,nothing!
He was on the phone to the AA as I started the coop first time to clear the condensation from the windows,,I felt sorry for him,,,the Z was gorgeous though, tan leather against pearly white,,19 inch alloys, very very smart, and he says he gets 26mpg?
Impressed!! thumb

I'm a big fan of the 370Z, but sadly it's a little beyond my means!

Technology is its own worst enemy, I loaned my Scirocco to a friend when I broke my foot so couldn't drive.
The car has keyless entry and ignition, a brilliant system when it's operating correctly, not so brilliant when the car locks down because the battery has gone flat and the keys become locked in the boot of the car.

The spare keys were with me in the UK, the car in Dubai safely locked up in a car wash!!

VW to the rescue and had to use a breaking in device to open the door and then change the battery.
Still unsure as to why a 3 month old car had a flat battery in the first place, possibly because I didn't obey rule No1- NEVER lend a 3 month old car to a girl.....no matter how pretty or how nice her frontal orbs are!

Which is the future classic discussion - will today's desireables become classics, or will they be too expensive to keep? My TR6 with it's 60's technology is a motor I can maintain. The Coupe isn't. God knows what a 2000's motor would be like.

Which is exactly why I built the widget and the startrek software... if necessary, I could rebuild an entire ECU, though I'd probably use something off the shelf purely in the interests of time.
