Hi folks,

I've found out that the stock 20VT injectors are not suitable for high boost applications. It will die out at 4.5~5 Bar fuel pressure, that is equal to a 3.5 Bar fuel pressure setup running 1~1.5 bar of boost.

Check out my video:

I've replaced the stock injectors with these and they are spot on after some tuning.

Cheers,

David

Wow, 4.5 bar is not very high either. Have you tested any other sets?

It is of course not like running 4.5 bar fuel pressure with 1.5 bar boost. It's like 4.5 bar with no boost, which is quite different.

I'm using OE injectors with 4bar FPR, running at 1,4 boost and don't know if related or not, but for almost a year had 2 injectors failed.......upgrade planed very soon.....

Hi,

I've tested more than 5 sets of the stock injectors. All cuts out at almost 5 Bar, which means if you are running uprated fuel regulator of 3.5 Bar, plus a boost level of 1.5 Bars, the injectors will be seeing 5 Bar fuel pressure at just 1.5 Bar boost. I've also noticed that the injectors that tends to max out first with higher pressure, tends to die first, by that, I mean that the injector will tend to fail first eventually. It will get to a point whereby that the solenoid can lift the pintle valve of the injector when no fuel pressure is present, but when there is fuel pressure, it will not be able to lift the pintle valve or will take longer than usual, by the time it starts to lift it, the signal would have been cut and it goes all over again (or simply put, it will require a longer than usual pulse width for it to work properly)

Cheers,

David
