Today has been the best track day of the year for me, loads of different cars there, couple of nice evos and a black beamer that must of been over 600bhp (very fast), as for the videos, none where taken from me in - car due to the "no suction cup mounts" well they know what they can do . On track was great, Bessy the truck handled perfectly (apart from the whole exahust system falling off at 12:00), not many accidents, mx5 found the kitty litter aswell as a katerham. The weather was also very good, started off nice and cold, then it smashed it down with rain, all of big BHP boys went home at that point, Bessy only got over taken by a suped up VXR in the wet, couple of wobbles but nothing major, althogh it was rather funny when the car decided to turn into an off-roader on the large dip before the start - finish. Apart from that it was a great day, Dan having fun with no tread, fun

A bit of a delay in writing up .... We were very lucky with the weather ... as Jake said, it was only about 2:30/ 3:00 that the rain really started coming down hard. Before that we had a mostly dry day, with just the odd rain spitting now and then. However, when the track opened, I was determined to make as much as I could of the dry weather ... thinking that I'd shortly be splashing round the track So I went out straight away, and kept going out .. only really stopping for fuel! I think I did more track time in the first 2/3hrs than I normally do in a whole day ... one of the advantages of a 7 (in that the brakes and engine never really get hot!). And it meant I managed to give loads of passenger rides ... Jodie, Senny Dave, Rich, Dan, and probably a few more. And I was getting more and more confident as the day went by ... particulary when it got greasy with the spitting rain. I had a few good, fun, "controlled" slides ... getting more and more aware of how the car moves around under me, and how to control it. I managed to catch quite a big moment round Druids ... and without too much panic And it was good to be one of the quickest cars out ... I think the people I gave rides to were amazed how much more quickly you can corner in a 7 that in a 'normal' car. The only thing that was consistently faster was a R500 on slicks ... which went past me several times like I was stationary The others all had interesting days in their own rights ... Dan with his bald tyres (and a dash off for new ones) and Joe with his broken exhaust (and a dash off for some welding). Oulton really is a good track ... and I'd firmly recommend getting some track time on there, if you haven't before

Yes, Dave ... I'm getting more comfortable with the faster moving stuff now, not just the slower corners.
Hope you are on the mend ... man-flu is nasty stuff!

Well that was an eventful day! For me, first couple of sessions out on the slightly green surface, I really struggled for grip. So, after enough of slaloming through the chicanes even at stupidly low speed, I thought I'd change the 'more worn' pair from the back to the front. Only when I took them off did I realise quite how 'worn' they were So, this prompted an early lunch and a trip to a nearby tyre place that had 225/45/16 profile in stock. The afternoon sessions mostly in heavy rain and spray felt so much better for the new rubber. Although, the old girl seemed a little sluggish compared to normal. Turns out I was so preoccupied with grip (finding any), vision and monitoring the high oil temps I was running (I saw 130 that afternoon) that I didn't see I was only getting 0.4 bar of boost. Now the car is back home, with a pair of Maxxis tyres and a to do list of major items (belts, oil cooler and pipes, boost issue, wheel bearing(s) for a start). Maybe she'll be ready for a festive trackday... All in all though, still a very enjoyable day, familiar faces and some interesting other vehicles (80's Rover SDI and an old school Capri with mahoosive rear wing that did little to stop its tail sliding wildly at every turn, was comical following it for a lap!). Would urge anyone to do a day at Oulton, fabulous circuit. Thanks to dave_t for the ride out in the upside down rowing boat, you are definitely coming to terms with its capabilities since I last went out with you. It never stops to amaze me how much grip these things have through the twisties. Jodie also says thanks for her laps. Now she wants one - maybe if she gets a good corporate bonus from BT next year (unlikely going by their latest stock market results just published!!)... Thanks for Joe for the swift wheel bearing change he performed first thing Lastly, shame that Taffy has lost the love of his coop and ended his last track day early Someone will profit from the fruits of his labour and pockets with his setup. I don't think I'll ever join you for a bike track day you crazy son of a! I like my protection too much! Took a bit of video, have a few laps following Joe in Bessy so I'll edit that and post up sometime next week...

For me, oulton was everything i hoped it would be Great to see a few familiar faces again, and big thanks to dave to the passenger ride, you seriously tipped my persuasion scale with that one. bravo held up great all day, the new alloy rad saw temp no higher than 90 degees all day, and i gave it as much stick as my talents would allow. had a little moment at island bend when my tires werent quite as warm as i thought they were. I called it a day when the heavens opened around 2:30, cause i only had decent semi slicks. all in all great day, a fantastic track, definately recommended. sorry you lost the love adam, but i do understand where your coming from. pics and vids to follow. About 10 laps and passed well over 20 cars I lapped the slowest car I've ever seen on a trackday 4 times in those twenty minutes Getting the suspension sorted for next year and maybe some engine work depending on funds. It really is a great track once you got some laps under your belt.

Sounds like an excellent day chaps, and glad MK and Westfield are running well. Shame Oulton isn't a bit nearer to me, as it's a stunning track. Oh, and the rest of you scrabble-wagon-driving jokers need to get on the kit-car train
