Chrissy, this requires amendment to the downpipe (v-band adaptor), and requires other parts also.
It depends on price, but its a big step up from a hybrid.
GT28R's can make between 300-350bhp, so it just depends on what your setup is. Otherwise you can run low boost and still make reasonably good power.
Is it what your probably looking for? No.

To clarify, it's mine, is a T28R not a GT28R, already has the V-band elbow (plus clamp, if needed) has previously been fitted to a 20VT manifold, etc. etc.
No offense taken, just adding details.

That I can't say beyond the exhaust housing being marked as an A/R of .42, which would be quick to spool. A T28R is a T28 with roller bearings, not thrust/journal bearings, so ideal for a decatted system.
I couldn't even venture a guess as to its origins, as there is no id. plate nor other part no., and it arrived as a joblot of spares in a box, along with my 2nd Coupe 20VT. Does anyone know if a William Oscroft was on here, as it was all his stuff, since he didn't have the time to devote to getting it roadworthy again.

Punto, can you confirm its a .42 exhaust side for sure (just nissan uses a .48 t28 from memory), I don't know the T28's well as the 16v's never had them, but if I recall the .48a/r T25/28 is one of a pair off the Nissan GTR RB26, so effectively for a 1.3l
If it is a .42a/r exhaust side, thats very small for a 2l, there plently of talk on here about the "GT28 .64ar vs.86ar". I would think it would restrict the exhaust side too much,
I'll check on the home PC That's a definite yes on the .42 A/R cast into the exhaust housing. If you dont know what it is how do you know it has roller bearings? OR if it is actually is a "T28R" 0.42 does not sound right. Obviously I can't be 100% sure, with no id. plate or other part no.s, that it's a T28R, but I do know the difference in 'feel' between a 'dry' journal bearing turbo and a roller bearing one, as I've a T25R off a Nissan 180/200SX, and an IHI RHB5 VL7 too. I'll put pictures up the moment that I get a chance, then you can all muse a bit more.

Right, well I would not be putting a restrictor in it unless you are 100% sure.
I've never heard of a "T28R" - I love it how poeple make up turbo names. Nissan ball bearing turbos are based on the GT series.

Actually the T28R is from the Silvia S15, It does exist - Sure they exist but they are infact a GT28R (the original GT28R)

The exhaust housing from the original one, needs rotated to make fit to the coupe. However, if it came off a coupe, it should already have been done. Ross

0.42a/r is the housing size of the compressor housing on a standard turbo, are you sure you are not confusing this with the turbine housing, never heard of a 0.42a/r turbine housing

My error (need sleep, it's been a mad few days is my only excuse).

i would be very surprised if anyone has ever made a ball bearing standard turbo, it just wouldn't be worth it, the CHRA itself would be about £500 minimum then you would have all the machining to do, you wouldn't get any change out of £700
there was a hybrid called an ultraspool which used a ball bearing CHRA but it was fitted with a larger compressor wheel although it retained the standard turbine wheel and v band housing
have you measured the inducer of the compressor wheel to see if it's a standard compressor wheel or a larger one

Just trying to figure it out, it may just be a spare std. TB2810, as I've little experience of all the ins and outs of the Coupe's modification paths, although I'm quite technically knowledgeable, on ce I know the details.
