hi guys and gals just navigating site and found to be very worthwhile heres my problem i have some pioneer 6 by 9's to go in rear but removing the originals seems difficult especially as seats on 1 side dont move fwd??? is it just a case of taking off seatbelt bars and 3 screws 0n pass side then pulling/panel out/off??? or do the seats have to come out????? looks like a bitch to do behind drivers seat or am i being a numpty!!!! thanks jazzy

where are you putting them? in the rear quarter panels? think 6x9's will need some work to fit mate. if you mean putting them into the parcelshelf then getting the rear seat off on the drivers side will not help... anyway to remove the rear quater panels from memory you have to; remove the lower rear bench seat, 2 bolts underneath. remove the front seat belt lower rails, 2 bolts. drop down ski hatch, push in the spring loaded pin and pull out go into boot, remove the rear carpet covering the "back" of the seats and ski hatch. undo bolts holding seat in place, 2 or3 i think. back into cabin, pull down the rear seat you have just unbolted and again prise pin back to get it out of the bracket.
remove the two large bolts that hold the reat interior panel onto the rear of the car, the lower allen bolt, 1 i think, and the allen headed screw near where the seat belt rail was. the original speakers fit onto the rear of the panels.
i have fitted 3 way components into mine, and 8" subs, and others have fitted 10" subs. i personally had to make my holes bigger with an angle grinder and a cutting disc. hope this helps. will be taking mine apart soon, and promised Liquid some pics of it dismantled, so will try to get it done at weekend and next few days.

well only one hole actually, the lowest one next to pillar/door. needed tweaking got some pics somewhere. they were on the old forum i think. i needed to make a "box" for my subs so used the quarter panel as the end of the box and filled toe gaps iin the pannel with foam. then covered the lot with sound deadening pads. then made a custon piece of mdf that mounted on the front of my cut hole and fitted the 8" into that. works okay.

thanks guys i did try the owners manual and checked old threads first!!! i am pleased with the front audio sound but the rears are not great and was hoping on fitting a bass tube /amplified in boot with 6 by 9's in rear panels is this a good choice ?? and is that the best place for the 6 by 9's??? finally mounting the bass tube is it best to bolt it to the floor??? or other?? thanks in advance and cheers for the replies. jazzy
