I am buying a second car as a stop gap,
There are 2 definate cars on the cards, I will be collecting on tuesday, I have driven both & they are A1 mechanically,
Ok,
Leon Cupra R - I owned one already but its a steal & profit when I rid, Clio 182 2x Cup packs - I love it, its rapid, its light and agile,
The G.F thinks the Clio is 'Just a Clio'
So Im in a dilemma, I know how good a sorted Leon is, But The Clio is such a bloody cool motor in my eyes, and looks lovely in black..
Again, These are the 2 definates so I am not thinking about any other cars..
Any opinions? I keep hearing 'french rubbish' comments, even though our Megane CC after 5 years has never failed us...

I would choose the Clio as I'd like to own one. The fact you've already owned a Leon is even more reason to try a something different. Be careful about putting a deposit down

The Leon doesn't compare to the Clio

Having never driven or owned either, I'd say the Clio (A couple of friends had them and seemed to enjoy them) But: Leon Cupra R ... its a steal & profit when I rid...
If it's only for a while, and your fairly certain you can make a profit when you come to sell, I wouldn't even consider the Clio. Ben

I've driven a full fat 182 with cup pack. Great handling and quick enough to have plenty of b road fun.
But, the driving position was horrible and the exhaust drones terribly on the motorway.

sorry but its gotta be the leon, its a solid car that is always in demand, people will pay the money for 1 aswell, let alone the fact that its classed as a family car so cheaper on the insurance, and there is more choice on parts, which would happen to be cheaper, then there's modifying if you want to go down that route. the list goes on lol.

Could you not have fitted some decent after-market buckets into the Clio?

Nice mixed bag of answers on here - I'd pick the Leon.

There was a Recaro option on the 182's, although they're quite rare. They offer much more support and get rid of the 'sitting on it' rather than 'sitting in it' feeling. Interesting stuff, however in my view it's as much the flat angle of the steering wheel - I actually really like the (standard) seats in my 172.

I've heard countless people moaning about the bus-like position of the standard seats. Personally, I think they're quite good and can't see what all the fuss is about.
