Im poing a quick question on behalf of josiegirl, would a set of 17" 7j wheels with 215/45/17 tyres fit on her 16V NA with no modifications? the PCD is correct 4x98. we both a little unsure when it comes to wheel sizes

The 45 profile is quite high for 17's, normally for this size rim you'd fit a 40 but that's not tsaying they won't fit, they just might scrub the arches on full lock.

i ran 205/45s, on my 17's, on my 20vt, without issue. The ride quality was vastly improved over running 40s, but bear in mind your speedo will be out (due to increased rolling circumference).

i never experienced any rubbing and i had to run spacers (due to the brembos).

Like any wheel change, make sure you check and use correct spigots, and correct bolt lengths for the new wheel (where required).

Note that the maximum angle of steering is higher on the 16v versions, so beware!

I run 215/45 on 17's on my 16VT and had no probs with them rubbing the arches etc.
