Wow! Quite a trip.....

Well, it was alright once he remembered he had an aircraft strapped to his back... altogether too close to the ground on one or two occasions: no choices if it went wrong.

I think that if I was diagnosed with a terminal illness, flying in one of those 'squirel' suits would definitely be at the top of my 'bucket' list.

He's an idiot if he is - there's a basic rule for foot landed aircraft: don't try and land faster than you can run. I can land a paraglider dead still into the wind, but with no wind it's more likely to be about 10mph. He's moving four or five times that speed.

Wing suits are for people tired of life. To try and land one, you have to be *very* tired.

Yes, I saw it on you tube today, he jumped from a helicopter into a load of cardboard boxes

It does make me chuckle that probably billions has been spent improving impact protection and all sorts of various different materials and substances created.

And the stuntman's material of choice is still 'the cardboard box'.

Pah. Jaws (in Moonraker) landed without a chute at all onto a big top - a much smaller target.

I read this a few years back and was amazed by some at some of the tales of survival, rear gunners falling with their chutes on fire and landing in trees or snow drifts, great read.
