After a 6hr round trip from Manchester to Bedfordshire I picked up my new car yesterday. A 2008 BMW 335i M Sport.

I've been on the look out for 335i for a couple of months now and this example was well worth the wait laugh

22,000 miles from new
11 months MOT
6 months tax

Here's a quick phone pic. I'll get some better photos when I get chance.

The car looks and drives like new. At low revs, in standard auto, the car feels smooth and relaxing. You can't even the gear changes. When you flick it over to sport mode, it's a whole different beast. The noise and acceleration is epic laugh at any speed you can plant your foot and the needle on the speedo rotates at the speed of a rev counter! The power delivery is smooth and linear so you don't realise how fast your going until you look at the dials. It's by far the fastest car I've owned and the nicest to drive.

I did have plans to go stage 1 straight away which ups the power from 306bhp and 300 torque to 380bhp and 400 torque. But I'm in no rush. The car feels plenty quick enough. I'm sure I will remap it at some point but for the moment I'm really happy with it.

Thanks Mickey.

I've always liked them myself but never had the money to buy a decent one until now as prices have come down a lot over the last 12 months.

The prices have dropped dramatically over the past 12-18 months. The car new was £43,000 so with the added options maybe around £46,000-£47,000. You can pick them up for sensible money now.

I like that. One of those is certainly on my wish list for the future.

The Diesel version is pretty good as well.

I believe flea remaps these with his usual results, well worth considering. Looks nice for what it is, they just bore me rigid as they all look the same

Yes, apart from the twin exhaust and the badge on the back theres nothing else to tell it apart from other E92 BMW's. Coming from a VXR which was the exact opposite and very in your face I appreciate the understated looks.

I'm thinking of getting a JB4 tuning box which is sort of the BMW equivalent to a GTEC and very popular. It's plug and play and only takes minutes to install. You also get a few added functions and can easily be removed if you need too. £320, plus I could sell it on when I change car

I've owned the BMW for about 10 months and done 7000 miles so I thought I would post a bit of an update. I'm loving the car still and it a great mixture of power and luxury and I'm averaging 25mpg with mixed driving.

Since buying the car I've:

1)Ditched the run flats and fitted Continental Contact 5's all round. The ride is much better now as is the grip

2) Wrapped the wood trim gloss anthracite and fitted a genuine carbon fibre centre trim

3) Fitted an M3 style lip spoiler to the rear

4) Fitted a JB4 tuning box

The JB4 (see post above) is a great bit of kit. Theres a very noticable increase in power and it very simple to use its additional features for fault code reading and what not.

I put my car on the rollers this weekend to see what the JB4 had added. Standard, the car was 306bhp. With no other mods other than the JB4, the rolling road result was 375bhp. I was very happy with the result. Im tempted to add downpipes which should push it up to 410bhp but its plenty quick enough already.

Quick Video on the rollers
