After seeing Nigels great work on Proccys car Nismo couldnt go to SPA without having the same done to his car. Knowing my car is going nowhere any time soon I have alot of free time before SPA... He gave me a call during the week and asked me to come round nice and early on Saturday and not to turn up without my DA and cleaning products laugh We both spent the day doing the car and results are fantastic. MR C also turned up and decided to Clay bar his car and watch us laugh

The process:
Car was washed, and clay bar (Iain did this before i came round)

All seals and rubbers were masked over

The car was then DA'd using 2500 Mernanza Polish with a white pad (No need to go too agressive on this car)

We also used MuckOff Detailing spray as a lubricant. I like to wet the panel first, start DAing then when the polish is getting dry I wet it again and continue until dry. This keeps the friction temperatures down and makes the polish go further.

After DAing the whole car we went over it again with a Clean White pad applying Werkstat Carnauba Primer

This was then followed by two coats (by hand) of Werkstat Carnauba JETT Wax

The Results:
Photos taken on my mobile...wish i had taken some before shots. The results speak for themselves really. Just a shame it started to rain just as we finished grr

Nice work indeed Mario.

Next time you're staying at mine on a Bristol night out, I've one or two jobs for you in the morning. One is yellow, the other is green.

Look below if you still need to!

You really don't need to worry about high temps using a DA. Just prime the pad before applying your cutting compound and that would suffice.

What level of correction were you going for? Presumably there is some marring as by the sound of it you used Menzerna's most aggressive pad despite using final finish?

Nice looking car.

the car had loads of swirl marks for the years of washing and polishing and i just wanted them removed we got the best result from using the 2500 grade cutting compound , we did try the 3000 and 4000 but the 2500 worked the best . i'm very happy with the results .

To be honest i just find it easier in terms of working to keep the surface lubricated. It was also a hot day even though we worked under the shade so it keeps the polish wet and easy to move about.

Nismos paintwork is very good, there were however quite a lot of swirl marks and a few deep scratches. I didnt want to go too agressive on the compound side of things as its original paint and didnt want to strip too much back. We tested a few pad/polish combinations and this one worked best at removing the deeper scratches and giving an overall great finish.

The white Menzerna pad feels like a brick in texture, but used correctly, it gets swirls and scratches out really quickly.

I only used the white pad on one small part of Proccy's car - I used the orange for the vast majority of it.

However, I have to say that Nismo's car looks lovely - for some reason the Electric Blue seems to respond very well to being polished.

Great job smile
