Hi I recently sold an oil cooler and pipes to a guy from London kt19 ,the guy claims it wasn't delivered but the post office said it was delivered. The guy bought a 20v turbo from eBay in January for 650 quid its a red 1999 t reg. Anyone know of this. Trying to get his money back now. I posted it 1st class for quickness because he said he was desperate for it. Last Saturday morning.

If you have proof of postage and proof it was delivered, then there's not much he can do.

Did he pay via Paypal? If so, they will put you in the red while they sort the dispute, but if you have the above proof, the case will close in your favour.

i do a lot of ebay sales and i use paypal if you have proof of postage you win

agreed, I've had a good few people try it on like this. If you have proof of posting then paypal will find in your favour.

ive got the postage reciept with the item weight and destination on it, will this be good enough.

I buy and sell on ebay quite alot and the first thing I learned to my expense is NEVER send anything unrecorded/signed for.

Paypal will find in his favour and refund him!!

It's shitty but have known people who will recieve something they have won on ebay and if not recorded will claim it was never recieved so they get the item and then the money back aswell through paypal its been one of the biggest scams for the last 5 years.

you need proof of delivery to be 100% if you can prove its been signed for you will have a lot less problems.

Mick007 - How do you know for definite it was delivered? If you only sent it 1st class, then you can't be sure. Even the post office cant say if it has or not as there is no signature required. As mentioned earlier, you have proof of postage, but not of delivery.

For all you know, he might be telling the truth.

paypal will refund him regardless if they find in his favour, they will then pursue you with debt collection agencies if you dont pay.

I sell a lot on the bay and for anything of any value I will always use a tracked or signed for service, most typically a courier. You're looking at £8 that gets most things delivered on this type of service.

Also equally sadly, are the number of chancres on the bay

just found out that he changed his name recently on ebay from 0208_hall sounds a bit suspect. the post office delivery guy remembers delivering the box to the address. he had to hand it over because it was too big to go through the letter box.im going to london in a couple of weeks and i will be going to his address.

Unfortunately without proof of delivery you'll end off having to refund him. Always send items Recorded Delivery minimum. You always know when a package is delivered. Special Delivery even shows who signed for it.

better get that in writing.

I was waiting on a package once that was sent special delivery. The Postie had delivered it to next door and forged my signature I got it back a few days later. What a nightmare.

When the post office collects it its no longer yours.

As bad as it may sound as long as you have recorded this then its the buyers issue to chase this up.
s far as ebay are concerned and we have all been bitten by the ''send it as cheap as possible''buyer that claims not to receive it.
If you buy from Argos etc then unless its in your house you get your money back.

For all my ebay purchases it comes from my Barclaycard.
If i dont receive it i dont pay.
Internets a tricky place so let the card companies deal with it.

i use a courier every time for the cost difference its not worth the risk

HI just an update on the ebay chancer, yes he did get his money back, im well pissed with this as ebay never even contacted me regarding my sale. done everything right but they still refunded him, now cancelled my paypal account so they cant take any money, ive decided that they can take me to court.sick of chancing low life fkrs that rob everyone.rant over..for information the guys name is chris hall lives near london robbing bas***d.

Yes your angry however you should have sent the goods recorded. Imagine you were on the other side of the fence and someone had said they sent it to you... i doubt without proof you would take too kindly to losing your money also?
