Sub £20k now for a "high" mileage std 996T now. That about £5k off in the last year or so.

I've got my eye on the SLK55. Average mileage early examples at £15k, that about £5k off in the past 6 months. Guess it's down to the 172 AMG being available.

I've noticed a big drop in performance car prices myself of late. I'm considering a BMW 335i as prices have dropped to between £11,000-£12,500 for a good'un. 380bhp with just a remap too smile

335i

The porker is a lot of bang for buck. It just needs to drop another £10k-£12k so maybe I can consider it in the year 2030 or something.

So true. Some crackers about for a few grand more. Seriously tempting...

Many large petrol engined cars have suffered big depreciation in the last year. People just don't want petrol cars these days. They see 50mpg quoted for a diesel model and buy that for the 6000 miles a year they do thinking they're saving money.

It's a false economy due to servicing and the diference in fuel cost just to get an extra 10mpg, but it does mean performance bargains for those more enlightened. You can pick up a decent E90 4.0 V8 M3 for not much over £20k these days. That is seriously tempting.
