Does the GT28R have a V-Band adapter?

The GT28 series turbos have a 5-stud downpipe union as standard, which leaves you with two choices...

1) Buy a downpipe with a 5-stud union
2) Buy a 5-stud to V-band adapter (which I happen to have for sale wink )

A GT28R will flow better with an increased diameter downpipe, but you're looking at £250+

well as its widely known the standerd downpipe is tiny in parts so is a restriction

v-band just enables you to get the turbo fitted

a proper downpipe will help alot, there limited choice on upgraded downpipe's i ended up making my own 2.5" which i hope to finish this weekend. total cost is about £100 without labour

Yes, get a downpipe made. Shouldn't be too much of a cost if you make room for the work yourself first.

I'd stick with the standard downpipe if I were you. Not worth spending the money on a new downpipe compared to the difference it would make in power.

I ran the standard downpipe on a GT28RS and made very good power.

Hmm.. Would've been quite low power for a RS! smile

The money depends on where you go and how much you do yourself. If you leave the car with plenty of room to do it, it's not a time-consuming job for them.

Would it not be possible to steal the downpipe off another car and adapt it I wonder hmm!

My makes 342 with a 0.86 RS and, though it is 'enough', it's nowhere near its potential. With bigger injectors and a free flowing exhaust, I would expect 380bhp+

F****** b****** thing...

Yeah I have the same sort of power with a GT28R. And a 3" downpipe. smile
