I've never heard of a 63 trim T3 but it will definatly be possible to fit it in a T3 front cover. I've fitted much larger wheels. A TO4 with 55mm inducer will fit.

The only 63 trim t3/4 compressor I know is the T04R compressor (aka T67), this is called a 63 trim, it has the 67mm inducer and 84mm exducer. Is this what you mean?

here one for sale

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Garrett-Compressor-Wheel-T3-T4-T67-T04R-84mm-63-trim-/380296239643

I highly doubt it will fit with an inducer that size, it is huge, and you would never match that to an OE hotside

Surely this can't one the one you mean, so can you give more details on the inducer/exducer

Why do you want to use that wheel? This will fit fine with a larger front compressor housing but Id say its a huge mismatch on a std hot side and wont work.

Anything larger than a TO4E 50 trim is going to cause issues with a standard hot side. That wheel is forgiving too, some of the smaller ones will give more problems with surge. You really need to be looking at engineering the turbo from the ground up. Maybe using the TO4 shaft and or a larger turbine housing.

This is the biggest T3 compressor wheel I believe - Garrett Part Number 410299-004 though the 441341-0002 is more commonly used.

However I believe both need a complete, larger (T04B?) compressor housing, not just a larger/modified cover, as the wheels are 69mm diameter (exducer) rather than 60mm diameter of most T3 family compressor wheels.

if you want a cheap decent upgrade don't use that 63 trim, it is a huge mismatch, the turbine (even a stage 2 or 3) won't have enough torque to drive it properly the small turbine will choke up as it can't flow anything like that compressor, tat compressor is popular for 700-750bhp, on a oe turbine that maxs out at 300bhp

I would reccommend a T04e 50 trim in a t04e cover (should fit standard core - Scuderia will know for sure) the T04e cover requires minor 5mm web removal on the gearbox and means you won't be able to remove the gearbox without removing the turbo (clearance issues) but bang for buck it is hard to beat

The T04R is normally matched to a T4 P, or Q trim turbine. they are big turbines normally used on 2.6-3.0l (say nissan RB26, RB30, supra's etc) engines and up, and comparively low speed

To put things in presceptive turbine size wise

T3 OE Turbine - - 48.2mm, 58.9mm
T3 Stage 2 Turbine - - 53.9mm, 65mm
T3 Stage 3 Turbine - - 56.6mm, 65mm
T4 O Trim - - 58.3mm, 74.2mm
T3 stage 5 is here but can't remember size
T4 P Trim - - 64.6mm, 74.2mm
T4 Q Trim - - 68.4mm, 79.0mm

Using a small turbine you would end up with the same problems as a GT2876R which have proved to be poor turbos, too much compressor for the turbine. You could easily make a lemon of a turbo, small turbine restricting exhaust flow - chokes out and can't "drive" the compressor effcently , compressor that surges etc.

I would save a bit more and buy a GT3582R if you want a turbo that size.

Having been through the turbo's I have I would say save your $$$ and get either a garrett or Borg warner that is proven, or cheaply the T04e
