Hey Chaps

I would like your input please. I have Steel Grey LE and the bonnet is goosed in terms of paintwork, however once everything mechanical is sorted my last job is to do do a full car respray.

I was happy to live with it within the mean time however i came to the car at the weekend, and now have a great scrape down the lip of the bonnet on the passenger side. Thanks you T##Ts

I am struggling to source a replacement and tend to see a few more ink breakers that i could extract a bonnet off, I just didnt know ft it would work, due to the bonnet being a wrap around. I see other cars i.e. golfs and in my eyes they dont look to bad with the different bonnet. Whats your thoughts? 1. leave as it is, 2. wait until a grigio comes up 3. plump for a ink / solid black until i can get the full respray??

Why dont you ask Joe (country cruising) last time I was at his unit I saw a stack of bonnets... cant remember if there was a steel grey one though.

Also post a wanted ad . . . it wont be too long before someone breaks one.

If your bonnet is badly dented and rusted I would replace it before the respray. They are quite hard to repair and the rust will no doubt come back especially if its inbetween the skins. If the bonnet just has cosmetic paint damage and is sound then i would keep it. But it all depends how far away you are from getting the respray and if you can really live with it looking "goosed"

Hi Chaps

I have PMd Joe yesterday and just awaiting a response. It has slightly dented it and has taken paint away top the primer.

The "goosed" part of it is that its not rusty its just looks like it has been washed using a brillo pad and has the customery dent on one of the corners (no paint broken) in the corner.

Whats your thoughts to a black bonnet? Also i will post an ad in the wanted section too.

Please offer parts for sale only in the appropriate section. Thank you.

Mickey, your post got zapped as it didn't make sense on its own!
