hmmm the problem seems to be caused by all those people not wearing seat belts Some good dtuff there though - (who's the actor playing innocent driver in that Billy Blunder one ) People would cry "nanny state" but perhaps we should have more of these just to remind the dimmos of some basics
Last edited by came2dance; 10/02/2011 00:55. Reason: cross ply's and radials look like fun - can you still get them :D

I can't watch these as at work, but I agree there should be more informative ads on mainstream tv. I've seen a couple on cable channels for instance Customs and Excise, warning holiday-makers not to bring back certain foods.
We need some telling people when to use fog lights, and not to hog the middle lane!

Hmm, not sure the the cross-ply & radial argument is still valid.

I love these old films, even the non motoring related ones are great.
The Crossply and Radial one is classic, aside from missing the obvious safety issue - don't hoon around wet housing estates in BMC motors of the mid 1960s.

After watching the ads above I trawled a few more. Now this I call a "don't drink and drive" ad. Not for the squeamish, but very powerful.

The Amber Gambler commentary commits the gambler's fallacy:
"Every time he gets away with it he's shortening the odds.."
No he isn't.
