Right - a local land owner with a 4x4 has got to Kayjey, Joke and Lene - I've spoken with the landlady of the local pub, just a couple of miles away - she's willing to put them up - they should be warm and dry within the next few minutes
Apparently, the police have arrived too, as they were trying to close the road
mario / marco - Klaas mentioned that he thought you were planning a rescue attempt, but it's pretty rough down there, so you might want to talk to him first. Personally, I reckon he'd be better to abandon the Coupe for a day and spend some quality time in a country pub

Thanks for the update Nigel... I will give him a call and see what he would like to do... Ideally if Marco can borrow the work hilux we can at least rescue the car rather than leave it on the side of the road.

Mario, if you want to talk to KJ and see what you think... im still 100% content on going.

I gotta to agree with Nigel guys, and as I said to Marco, those roads will be really REALLY rough, I am only 10 miles and can't get anywhere near KJ.... For the price of a car, I wouldn't bother, the risks are too high. Look at what I said to my wife yesterday, before she crashed, I said why not take the train, rather 4 train changes than a crash, and look where she ended up, she crashed and that was in this general area.. Not worth the risk, not now KJ and family are safe. Great work Nigel

Wow, just picked up this thread... thrilling stuff. Good going guys, bet KJ will remember this trip for some time, it's great that they are all safe.
Hope his Coop will be ok, the Coop is so low and without a roof ariel that a snow plough may not notice it and bowl it over. I would try and ensure the authorities know the exact location of the abandoned vehicle.
Good job Nigel.
If you are going to get stranded, get stranded in a pub!
