As we all know they have a corrosion issue. My right bottom one is real bad.. Now if I can get them off (heat gun and cheese wire) I was thinking of powder coating them... I like the idea of having them a different colour on my Scott green coupe.. What colours have others used? I do have a colour in mind but won't tell just yet If they look I can always strip them and do em a different colour Also going to do the mirror back plates and side pillars but those will been done in a High Gloss Black.

With ease if you have done it before I guess.. There is a post on how to do it.. The cups are bonded in hence why you need a heat gun to make the sealent go soft... Hopefully I won't damage them.... I'm sure it won't go as planned

May be not in the How do section but I do recall seeing a post which mentioned using a heat-gun and cheese wire type tool If I do take on the task perhaps it can be turned into a How-do..... I will have my camera at hand...

The sealant gets soft so quickly when you use a heat gun, it's unreal. Apply a little bit of heat and give the cup a few taps from behind with a hammer. The sealant just crumbles off.

They were already on the car. When i was rubbing them down when it was in for a repaint they were all in mint condition and I thought to myself at the time " I thought these were ment to be alloy and corrode all the time". I'm pretty sure they have valeo stamped on them somewhere I'll have another butchers tomorrow

I could always offer to buy your coupe just for the plastic cups, but that might be an expensive option.

You have now exposed yourself to the cheapest grade aluminium known to man. Did mine in situ 4 years ago, two were appalling, lashings of aluminium primer, followed by two luxurious coats of helfraulds best rosso red. Good going Fullpint

I could post a How to do thread but I guess one needs to be a fully paid member..
I think a mod has to move your thread in there, hence why it's so tidy and organised
