I'm looking at fitting some -35mm lowering springs, but my coupe has 225/50/16 tyres fitted (by the previous owner) which I believe is the wrong size tyre. The wheels are standard 20v turbo ones.

Does anyone know if the tyres will rub once the car has been lowered?

The tyres should clear. a lot of people run 18" wheels and lowered and don't catch.

The only thing is to watch going over speed humps and dips in the road as you may catch the nose or catch the exhaust.

Your total rim+tire assembly is 631mm in diameter.

I have 215/45 r17, total diameter 625mm, and it catches the front liner (the part with the grilles) on full lock. Car is std springs/height. It doesn't rub on bumps.
I also changed the ET moving to 17in wheels, it's now et26, so on full lock the wheel pivots making a bigger circle than it would with stock et40... it catches the liners because of bigger wheels AND lower et confused

BTW, 16vT Coupes with "Plus" spec came with 205/55 r16 wheels (total diameter 631,9mm) and doubt factory wheels rub on std height...

In the end, it might rub... if it happens, You can always get some stock size tires (205/50 or 225/45 R16), many owners have 30-35mm lowered Coupes, running without (wheel rubbing) issues.
