Hi all. As some of you may already know. I build, tune and map my own 16VT. You may already be following my ongoing project in the Coupe Projects section. What I haven’t mentioned, up until now, is that I also run a performance tuning and live-mapping service for Renault Clio Williams and Clio 16V community. This has been a success so far and we have seen some excellent results. Now I aim to expand the ‘business’ to other future-classic marques – including the Fiat Coupe! I have an ad offering my performance tuning and live-mapping services in the Members Businesses section here: CLICK With luck this should be moved into the Traders’ Section when it is up and running I have already mapped Gillan’s Bravo 16VT (T3 super-60) with great results. Nick-D’s Coupe (T34, forged + much more!) is next on the cards – when we actually get the thing running again! Right now the service is available to 16VT engined vehicles. But I aim to include the 20VT in the very near future! I look forward to working for more of you in the future. Here are a few pics of my Coupe and one of my previous projects to give you an idea of what I can do: Fiat Coupe 16V Turbo. 260 bhp / 289 lbs ft @ 16 psi. Will be rebuilding the turbo for 300bhp+ soon. Home-built hybrid Garrett T34 Custom-built 2.5” downpipe The UK’s only fully home-built Renault Clio 16V turbo. 200.7bhp, @ 8 psi Home-built custom downpipe.

I had mine done a coupe of weeks ago now and the difference is amazing!!!
Unfortunatly my 440cc injectors maxed out so I'll be goin down for a second trip soon along with a bigger turbo and injectors 8)
but apart from that little hick-up I'm very pleased with kj's results and prices

All the best with this kj. Is this a traveling service (for live mapping only)?

Hi. Yes, making good progress, thanks. Got most of the new equipment I'll need for 20VTs. I've had a couple of cars to tune in the meantime, plus I'm making some modifications to my own Coop ATM (more on that later ), so I aim to officially offer my services to the 20VT in the New Year.

by live mapping do you mean road based mapping as opposed to rolling road? my limited experience in mapping has shown that most of the map detail is used on the initial part throttle opening. this is where the driveability is required. mapping over things like speed bumps help set the car up for driving, not just the peak 'pub talk' bhp figure. for a road car power is about the 'maximum under the curve' and getting most available torque possible. no point in a stonking max bhp figure and narrow powerband unless it is usable in required driving style. anyway, rambling over, best of luck in your venture it is a very interesting area

Hi, Rudidudi.
By live mapping I mean adjusting the maps "in real-time" and customising them to an individual engine, as opposed to just fitting a chip with pre-made maps. Ahh, i get you. Fitting a pre defined map and running is a proper mugs game imo. Ive seen rebuilt engines bore washed in less than 1000 miles due to poor fuelling on 'standard' maps. Although mapping over speed bumps doesn't help!
Actually going over speed bumps and potholes is more of a hindrance, because if a wheel momentarily leaves the road you end off with anomalous readings. Meh you're going too fast I found that they give you the opportunity to tweak the part throttle opening as after the speed bump you are literally at the 'pulling away' stage and the car can bog down if this isnt cracked. Id be interested in seeing some before and after maps of your hard work

Interesting indeed, as I am not too far away from Didcot, usually go rambling (yes on foot near Blewbury/Goring on Thames)..
Well well we do indeed have competition in live-mapping..amd the winner is ...
the coop!!!

Have you decided on your price range?
Will you consume a whole tank of fuel in the process?
cheers

cheers Hi. The price range will be as per my little ad hereGenerally I'll use up to half a tank depending on the car, it's spec and how long it takes to tune. Nonetheless, anyone bringing their car for me (or any other tuner) to tune should always do so with a full tank - no tuner likes having to break off a mapping session to fill up because the owner arrived running on fumes. That happens quite a lot!
