I bought some grooved brake discs and pads off Hyper a while back and recently fitted them.

I noticed that now the brakes aren't so strong as the original brakes when cold but when they heat up seem alot better than the standard ones.

has anyone else found this?
also, are the brakes disc's (grooves) directional?

Another thing to note is that they are alot noiser in the car, a proper hummm when braking.

Any thoughts.

thats normal mate, when cold there not great but when you get heat in them they get a lot better.

also the noise is normal for groved brakes!

Are you talking front or rear discs?

If so then it doesn't matter which way round you put the rears on, but people have often mention that if they are slanted forward i.e drivers rear wheel / then that are a little more aggressive.

As for the fronts then you need to make sure that the vanes in the vented discs are correctly orientated. I can't remember which was round they go though (its either to pull air to the inside of the disc or to pull air out)
