I'll probably have the Nello clan with me (Mrs Nello plus x2 Junior Nellos')....

Looks like its worth paying for tickets in advance :

Auto Italia Autumn Car Day

Admission Prices Advanced On The Day Adults £9 £11 Children (5-16yrs) £8 £10 Children (under 5yrs) FREE FREE Concessions (60 yrs+, unemployed or student) £9 £10 Family ticket (2 adults, 3 children) £28 £38 Track runs to be held at 12.00, 13.00, 14.00. A new date has been set for this popular late summer (previously Autumn) [...]

Not sure from where though? Maybe call Gaydon direct.... Track runs sound good. I've been on the old Airstrips years ago when they had the Rover Factory open days.

How about we organise a meet at the first services on the M42. Hopwood Park, J12 I think, we can then have a nice coffee and cake before we all leave smile

I suggest for those coming from the South or South West that we set up a convoy meet at Oxford Pear Tree services on the A34.

Pear Tree map

This is fed into by the A40, A44 from the west, and from the South or South West via A34 or A420 from M4.

I'm happy to meet here in the car park near the service area (not the hotel)

For me the most direct route would be East on the A44 but I'd be happy to go M5, M42, M40 if there's an organised early meet for coffee and dognuts smile

Google estimates it to be about 50 mins from Peartree via the A34/M40 (thats if the traffic is ok - can sometimes be a bit of a tricky junction between 9-10)

I suggest no later than 9am if we are getting there for 10am.

Probably be best to meet you at the East bound Hopwood services Reuben, the drive from mine isn't that interesting to be honest.

I hate the m4 with a passion, must know every bump and traffic cone to the m25 from bristol! Makes the m5, m40 m42 route like driving nirvana!

Joe, could meet you and Phil somewhere on that route?

Ok here's my proposal for anyone joining the convoy going North on the M5, we'll meet on the roundabout above the M5 at junction 7 for 7.30am, Hopwood services is then only 30 minuets away so we'll be there in plenty of time for coffee with Reuben laugh

Sounds good to me Joe.

Reuben, I'll happily pay the mocca premium for me wink

James - shall I meet you on Kellaway avenue at 6.45, to give us time to get to J7 on the M5? Just after Wellington Hill west towards the Gloucester Road?

Well according to the website (and i may be missing an obvious point heresilly) but the website says there are tracks runs to be had

http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/event/auto-italia-autumn-car-day/

Down sides are it costs and is limited to 70mph and 3 laps??

Ooh I have driven a jag round this a few years ago.

See it's £20 for 3 laps, but where does it mention the 70mph limit? The straight is about a mile and a half long and with all the machinery there that day that'll be torturous!

Back in 2007 on the same day I think a few people said that the pace car peeled off at some point and most of the cars then booted it and got the chance to do a maximum speed run. I guess this is down to the individual running it on the day?

Yes it's Autoitalia's last one of the year so it should be a good one as there will be 4 or 5 other car clubs going like classic Porsche.

Park next to me - I haven't had a chance to clean it since Mondays rainy track day at Keevil - it's caked in dirt looking sorry for itself. It needs some Patch loving smile

It'll be a thorough hose down at the jet wash this eve and a wax on the day, if it is dry of course!

Given the lousy weather this week, the Coupe will be lucky to see a hoover and jet-wash.

Today is ok here (20 miles south of Gaydon) but Coupe is in having a new bit of exhaust fitted until this afternoon.

I'll be there around 12 in convoy with a Maserati 420l0.

Thanks to everyone for a great day. Nice to meet some new people and put a face to a name.

Patch sorry we lapped you on the go-karts.

Joe's car sounded like a lambo on the motorway laugh

No photo's this time due to the torrent of rain at the end when we were going to line up a shoot! frown

woohoo thumb

Many apologies for my no show today. Got your message James as I got home about half an hour ago.

My excuse was called Becky and she was very hot lick. As a single man the opportunity was too good to turn down, and I realised when we got back to hers at about 4am that I'd probably not make the event frown

Sorry folks once again, gutted to have missed this, but on the other hand woohoo

Alright Dan, I'll let you off laugh and nice one wink. I hope the pen hasn't left marks on your windscreen...

Enjoyed the day despite the usual cr*p summer weather.
Sorry seemed to miss most of you at the cars but the line up was impressive. I'll add my 8 year olds photos tomorrow........Suffice to say the Lime Green LP560-4 Superleggera was my highlight thumb

Cracking day, nice to put faces to names and meet a few new peeps. Although i did see that the fiat forum had a tent, a flag and a bbq! I still think we out classed them though, awesome line up.

Nice to see so many coops in one place today, some real stunning examples were on show. Plain and simple, a good day out with fellow enthusiasts.

I had a problem with the turbo on mine - I think it fell off?

My first meet for a while so really nice to see so many coupes in one place again. cool

Sorry I didn't get to speak to many of you due to my late arrival.

Thanks to Joe for bringing the wiper arm and especially his son for fitting it, laugh

Shame I had to use it most of the way home.

Gary

No marks left James. I'd have been round with a big stick if you had - I cleaned it yesterday in anticipation of today!!

Sorry if I made you late for the meeting points in the convoy? Although you could have opened the taps on your plus!

Phew, I was worried the pen might run if it got wet. We caught up with the others at Hopwood, so it worked out ok.

I had a really enjoyable day as well - was great to meet more Coupe owners and I was able to get some good inspiration and advice for my Cinq project from other owners there. Thanks everyone for the compliments about the car too!

James

Enjoyed the day except for the pi**ing rain at the end frown

Some really nice cars there yesterday, James and your new Plus love Jame5 and those very nice OZ wheels and Gary with your Lotus paint job thumb

Good to meet some new faces as well as the familiar ones smile

It was a very odd day to hold this event but I think it went well.

Good museum too, although they've cleared out a lot of the BL bilge since I last visited in 2005.

Weather wasn't very kind to us either with the wind and rain.

Bit late I know but here are some of my pics, tried to get a shot of every Coupe there but may have missed one or two (turning up late didn't help rolleyes ) and I had to fix the white balance
