Running lower boost with a Gtec1? #1039224

Just reading another post and a question popped into my head..

I added a Gtec1 and an EBC to my car and it's great; but because the EBC has four favourite settings I've set it up as 0.5, 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 bar respectively.

Other than it being a bit more sluggish when it's only running in mode 1 (effectively base boost), are there any downsides, is it doing any harm? Generally if it's in the lower setting it's because I'm pootling about in traffic, rather than ragging it about.

Ally

All full throttle you might be running very rich as the chip is meant to be set up to certain parameters.. Sure someone will be along soon with more info

You wont be doing any harm by lowering the boost.

I've just come across my old post and the above question...

... it didn't cause any problems that I'm aware of. My EBC did stop working a couple of months back though so I'm back on a manual PRV for now and it's no where near as good at regulating smooth boost / stopping overboosting :-(
