I was going to wash my coupe tonight but it started raining, so I went to the pub instead! laugh

Might get up early tomorrow and give it a quick once over.

Just back from Brooklands. WOW ooo You don't get car shows like that in Ireland! What a brilliant day.

I didn't even know this was on. I was just visiting my sister over in Ashford and I saw an ad in a magazine and checked online to find that I'm only 1/2 away. £5.60 train fare and zip, I was there!

Nice to meet you Pete and Bob! And it was great to see so many coupés in one place. The most I've ever seen together is 6 or 7 cars, not the 63 cars that were there today!

Never seen an F40 in the flesh until today where I saw 3 and watched one being started up shocked

Nice 288GTO, loverly Iso's and Monteverdis. Loved the Integrales of course and the Alfas. Great stuff.

One of the best bits was after the show was over, standing at the junction of the Brooklands entrance and the Main Road. There were queues of exotica flooring it in 1st gear as they pulled out into the road. The 458 Italia sounded awesome as did the 3 F355's. Nice V6 roars from the various GTA's that left. The sprint blue Maserati Ghibli/Bi-turbo and the Black one made a good note too. Those Integrales can fairly move it too!

I'll be back next year, perhaps with my coupé!!

And for all of those watching the queue at the out gate... yes, I did go home on a trailer.

Sadly, leaving the event, an injector failed on the 20vt. Not wanting to risk melting the engine by running the engine lean, I took the Green Flag option.

To the great amusement of the neighbours, who had been complaining that they hadn't seen me come home on a trailer for a while...

Nice to see you all there. Thanks to Patch for sorting those scratches. And next year, kiddies, NO BARBIES!

I can report to all who missed out because of misplaced health and safety concerns, the cumberland sausages were delicious.

Good to see everyone there today.

Well another good day at Brooklands with some great cars and an excellent turn out of Coupes. Shame I couldn't park with the gang but was only just across the grass frown , this will teach me not to stop for a coffee en route.

Found a few Coupe gems hidden away as well with the other clubs, maybe we need a bigger plot next year so we can all squeeze in. I'd say numbers with the other clubs were well down so I think we did well.
Great to chat to those I spoke to and some excellent spirited hillclimbing from Phil, Joe and all the others.

Not sure of car of the day overall as so many nice bits of Italiania. Got to say though I thought that Focus RS green Coupe looked the business cool

Anyway hope everyone had a good drive back, see you next year.

If all else fails read the instructions

Wahey, that was an ace day. Started off with being followed by HoveDan much earlier than expected as it turns out we live within about 1/2 a mile of each other...
Here's the view back from my car: click to enlarge click to enlarge

Strangely I didn't take many coupe pictures today (except for a few pics of my own car of course), but dad got a few slightly blurry pics of coupes going up the hill.

I got a few pics of the other cars there, some of which were amazing. Some of my favourites:

I got some videos of coupes going up the hill in the first session:

The FCCUK turnout was the best of any club and the display of coupes was great. It was good to meet some more coupe owners, and I'll probably see some of you again soon. Thanks all for a great day.

Thanks for bringing my parts Phil and Joe.

Just back - What a great day, really nice to meet everyone and it really was a pleasure to do this (most unusual in this day and age!), great turnout for the west side convoy, great to meet the faces behind the names and have a day filled with coop talk.

Really fantastic, cheers fella's; your cars really are a credit to you.....and the weather held smile

I also tried to ask Vicki Butler Henderson out in the hill climb briefing, but she blew me off ... in front of everyone, I mean out frown laugh laugh

I didn't take any pictures but I did video Nismo going up the hill in the afternoon. CLICK HERE

and .... Jake my faithful and trusting passenger for the hill climb, did a in-car vid YouTube Clip

Second video now corrected smile

A great day, shame I got there late but better late than never!

Was great chatting to everyone and also wandering around the museum with Barnacle. The Concorde experience was also pretty good, I didn't realise how cool the place was.

I have heaps of photos to put up just a little photoshop touching up to be done first then they'll be up.

Perhaps a photos thread could be good for everyone's Brooklands pics?

Either way fantastic turnout, good weather, awesome day!

Photo sub threads are a very good idea Diddy.
I think we should have one for any meet where there are lots of pics posted.
Whenever I try and load a thread with stacks of pics in thumbnail format,it takes ages to load (I have a 7 meg connection so not the slowest or the fastest).
It will also separate the info from the lovely pics.....make it much easy to navigate.
Just my 2p worth.
Really wish I was there BTW......some of us have to work unsociable hours though grr

Nice pics guys. I have never been to this event, but i thought there was a hillclimb there not a piddly straight 200m run up a hill??? That is NOT a hillclimb!

It looks pretty pointless tbh. I may go next year to have a look around the exotica though!

right... So you have never been there and you KNOW that the hill is a piddly 200m straight....

Hmmm I don't think so, the hill climb has quite a gradiant to it and tests alot of cars to breaking point.
I don't think it's a good idea to comment on it untill you have given it a go and seen it for your self!

The hill was designed for testing acceleration and braking. Not designed to be a race track as say Shelsley Walsh.

Also, as cars drive up it, and 'it' is a hill, actually, it IS a 'hill climb' in the true sense of the word laugh

A big round of applause to the club, Auto Italia and the Brooklands Museum, great day with only some light rain when we got there. Good to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones smile

The hill climb was wicked fun, Mrs CC enjoyed being a passenger so a big feather in my cap there laugh

and yes it's definitely a hill...
