I'm also seeing this car at the weekend, again it seems to have an owner who knows his stuff and answered all my questions based on the buyers guide and check list on this forum.
Somewhere deep in my memory I recall a car used for magazine road tests. It was S reg and ended KAN. I think it was a Silver LE. I,ll go up into my loft later and see if I can confirm the full reg by digging out the road tests.

No I was wrong. Just looked at the magazine articals. The cars were; S935 KAN a sprint blue 20VT in autocar road test yearbook Dec 22/29 1999. and S909 KAN a Silver LE in auto express,Issue 517, Autumn special issue-road test extra, First drive,Fiat coupe Ltd edition."Fiat with six appeal"
Yes, but give the similar plate, chances are it might have been owned by FIAT UK as a press/demo car, but never pictured in any articles at the time (just like my very early 20vt, which was P452 CCF)

Does anyone think that being a Press/demo car early in its life might be something to be concerned about? Providing all the history is up to scratch then hopefully any abuse then would have come to light/been rectified by now?
I actually think mine had a more thorough pre-delivery (potentially to the press) inspection compared to normal cars. When I bought it, it had done 1700 miles in 3½ months but the oil was on the minimum and the tyres were noticeably worn.
After all these years, as you say, any problems should have come to light by now.
