Right, it seems Devonshire St nearby has The Thin White Duke and Connelly's Bar, then there is the Griffin toward the station....

What's the score prior to going to Robs? Meeting up in a pub beforehand? Usually, yeah - our favoured one a year or two back has closed down. Unfortunately we won't be able to get to our table early (we are booked for 1930) as it's in use beforehand; busy time of year! Has anyone a suggestion where to meet up beforehand, maybe from 1800 onwards? Jack, do you know somewhere?

Viewed from a business perspective social media is just another sales channel. Why would you allow someone to promote a competitors business? I think that's a disgusting, old school attitude, and one of the key problems with the Coupé 'scene" that led to the state it's now in. I've had work carried out by PowerItalia, FCSS and FCPerformance many times over the years, and all have spoken highly of eachother. Motormech never seemed to get involved with the old forum wars either, and both Roger and Joe spoke of them without any sort of ill feeling too. It doesn't sit right with me that Autosportivo seem to promote themselves as this Coupé specialist (I'm sure they are BTW) while completely ignoring all the history, specialists and pioneering work that has taken place in the UK Coupé scene. To publically deny all knowledge of any other specialists is absurd. It's a shame as their channel could have injected some life into the car's following again. Feels like a big miss to me. 100% fragmentation is not the way to go.

Quite apart from that, the demographics have changed due to the coupe no longer being the cheap, disposible means of reaching 150 "leptons" on " my private road", other cars have taken over that role. [/i]
Bring back "Wellformed" and his Milton Keynes burn-ups, laugh out loud funny!

Simon,
If my not taking one would free it up for someone else, I too would be happy to be refunded and pull out.
I do already have the stunning sprint blue from 2014. That's also very kind Bob, let's bear this in mind for a couple of days

Hi All,
To add to this thread- winter checks (is it really winter already?)
After having a running issue sorted out (water ingress into one of the spark plugs-how it got there is a mystery that will never be known). I spent some time this weekend on a dry, sunny but cold day to do the following, which I tend to think are the necessary winter hibernation checks. Like many- I'm lucky enough to have a space to keep my Coupe inside-away from the worst of the elements.
Oil/coolant/screen wash all checked and topped up if necessary. Wash down thoroughly-including washing down any mud/crud on the underside - and properly dried so no water remains on her. Polish applied-so that she has a barrier in place for the next few months. All tires inflated by a few PSI - to avoid any flat spots( car is used if opportunity arises and its dry but cold over winter-or in an emergency-so its not left on axle stands) Handbrake left OFF-and in gear-the brakes like to stick even if you think everythings dry) One dehumidifier pad stuck inside- just in case any dampness occurs. Car on to an intelligent trickle charger...ready for next time she is fired up.
Where I live- the fields will cover the roads and make it look like a mud track until probably mid march now...but if the weather allows-I like to keep her ready to go if an opportunity arises.
Have I missed anything obvious?
Are you all packing your cars away- or are there some who will be running them throughout the winter?
Regards all,
MM Cheers mate, I cannot let this car go, just such a great car and part of my life...weird really.

Sadly I have to announce that Ottomobile cannot send a replacement six models as they have run out. They are submitting a claim to Chronopost, France, and we have requested a refund.
I will work on the basis of first on the list downwards so it is possible one or two names near the end will miss out I'm afraid. However if people haven't paid up by New Year then they will be discounted and the next on the list will be contacted.

Mine runs year round for the last 20yrs+ of ownership.....garage spaces used for other cars...I care about the Coupe but it is my everyday car doing circa 1K a year..........never cover it, regular wash and wax, wheels were refurbed 9yrs ago and still looking good, replaced front wings,, front/rear sill ends and rear/front arches outer and inner welded, boot seam done etc.....still looks good, I keep on top of jobs to prevent big bills. Mixture of Bilt products, ACF50 and this year to see how good it is Lanocare.

We had booked a nice looking B&B in Carlisle with private parking parking and not too far from Rob's. We paid the deposit and had two confirmation emails. This morning I noticed a flag against my junk folder that I had missed. It was an email saying their on-line booking system had errored and they were sorry but they are fully booked!
Carlisle is fairly busy now with many places that had rooms, now fully booked. We considered the Premier Inn @ £120 but Trish found a cheaper place, out out of town. It looks a bit fancy but it is actually cheaper than the B&B that we thought we had booked!
