I do believe we took the p*** out of most people Rob - it's something we had in common, being miserable old farts (and I'm only 23!) laugh (note to everyone - it was all in jest!)

Murple cars go faster - the proof is in my car going faster than the 1.2 Saxo behind me earlier. It must have been the colour, nowt else can explain it!

I didn't particularly fancy the colour before, but now appreciate it far more, useful really!

Perhaps it was to prove that the Coupe could work just as well with an old school 1970s designed motor with (distributor, plug leads & bucket tappets) as it could with a much more modern unit (Coil packs, Hydraulic tappets & variable cam timming).

I would love to see a 16v owner go properly old school though and rip off the injection system. Imagine the sound of a 16v breathing through a couple of twin webers cool

Gone Audi mad!

Not me mate. I have enough grief from the Weber on the Quantum.

That just proves what we already know - nobody is arguing the fact that the 16VT is slower than the 20VT.

What we are saying is the power deliver is VERY much different, 0-62 in 6.5 seconds is, well, I can only say boring compared to the violence of the 16VT 0-62 a second slower.

It's been a week now living with the 20VT - and I still prefer the 16VT power delivery. AND - contrary to what everybody else on here says, I prefer the noise of the 16VT as well.

The 20VT has less soul and passion than the 16VT for me.

Heh - what do I know, only owned them both, and drove them both within hours of each other.

I understand I'm not allowed an opinion that differs from the 20VT bods (oh wait, I AM a 20VT bod) so I don't know why I'm even bothering explaining that I HAVE A DIFFERING OPINION to some other people on here.

The Fiat Coupe is an amazing car in all it's guises, we all love them for similar and different reasons. Why bicker and nit pick over the trivialities?

Anyway - many thanks to everybody for hijacking this thread, been told to stop, by myself and a moderator, and continuing on regardless, just because a few of us don't share exactly the same tastes as you.
To those that actually stayed on topic thumb

Can we just lock this thread please, it's been completely hijacked beyond repair.
