Well - she's home!

Didn't manage to avoid the snow grr

So havn't really had a chance to test her out to her full potential yet.

Sounds lovely with the exhaust on! Though the 16VT sounded far better without one on at all hehe

Massive thanks to Joe and friend (sorry, I've forgotten his name - very tired you know - driven for 9 hours today!!!).
Thanks for all the coffee!

Next time I'll wear 4 pairs of socks aswell!

We'll see if my opinion sways that way also!

So far - I actually enjoy the harsh "rip your balls off" acceleration of the 16VT over the "You know - I COULD rip your balls off, but I won't 'cos I'm refined see!" 20VT!

Tomorrow off work so shall spend the afternoon driving and playing! After I've recovered from today's 05:30 start - and then getting home at 19:30of course!

Cheers for the welcome to the common as muck 20VT club folks! hehe

no, the t3 I believe is bigger than the t28 the 20vt uses. so with the 16vt you get more of that old school nothing, nothing, nothing, well, I better visit my local tyer specialist!

yes these are refined cars, but please don't underestimate the "wolf in sheeps' clothing" performance capability. certainly when i boot mine the level of acceleration is more than enough for any circumstances most people will ever encounter, i love it cool

I often wonder why Fiat bothered making a 5 cylinder 20VT? If the 16VT was so good, why bother adding a more refined engine in the first place? laugh

Here we go here we go here we go......... laugh laugh

Because the 4 or 5 pot modular engine was cheaper to build?

Well, I have just taken her for a "proper" spirited drive, and still stick by preferring the 16VT power delivery. as Sam but it "nothing, nothing, nothing, well, I better visit my local tyer specialist!"

That doesn't mean I don't however enjoy the 20VT - quite on the contrary. My Coupe love has been reinstated!

I didn't mean to start the age old 16VT vs 20VT argument again - just making my opinions known!

Now, needs a good wash after the ridiculous amounts of grit dumped on the Motorways yesterday!

No sorry I've owned both and the 16vt certainly has that "rip your balls off" kick in the face harsh acceleration that the 20vt lacks.

My opinion of course! smile

Sorry to re-open the thread. Lovely 20vt matey, enjoy it!

your opinion diddy and you're welcome to it - but i still don't understand how a car that accelerates slower than another can somehow seem more aggressive. there's no logic to it and no amount of opinion can change facts wink

Drive one and you'll see especially with the old Evocars chip! It's hilarious fun. Regardless of facts and figures, the cars both put power down differently but on the road there's really not much in it with similar mods. Trust me I know.

There's something for you to have a look at Proccy!

I produced the video myself, just put picture in picture so to speak. Same stretch of road, 16vt vs 20vt with similar mods and very similar power on the same rolling road. Both cars owned and driven by me.

That gives you some idea as to just how much more aggressive the 16vt's power delivery really is, oh and the fact there really wouldn't be much in it.

Mods move this to a new topic if you think neccessary as I won't give up just yet tongue

good man.... laugh

but even the graphics at the end of your vid say " not much in it" or words to that effect so i say i'm right - ie, the 16vt is no more aggressive than the 20vt wink

Well Proccy just to point out. No idea if it is accurate...

It maybe that the 16vt has a fast acceleration at certain points than the 20vt.

The 16 may do nothing for a second or so then the power all arrives. Whereas the 20vt maybe more linear. Just an idea smile
