After nearly 5 years of Coupe driving, I am now no longer an owner. I have a Lipara Grey Alfa Romeo GT 1.9 JTD sat on my drive. This will be my daily driver. My wife's GTV 3.0 will now get some TLC and a berth in our garage after 3 years out in all weathers.

It's been good to be a Fiat Coupe owner again (had a 16VT years ago)but now it's time for cold reality. I need something economical with a hatch and folding rear seats and given the choice between the Fiat going or a mint, late 3.0 GTV (with a factory sunroof!!!!), it's a no brainer.

Thanks to all who helped me with my Fiat especially countrycruising who is a diamond geezer all round. Hope to see some of you at future Italian car days.

As Elvis once said:

"May God be with you, drive safely and adios; We'll see you again..."

Hope you're going to stay around on the forum Alan smile

Shame the Coupe has gone though and hope it goes to another owner who'll look after it as well as you did.

Wow. I thought this would be on sale on the forum. Perfect car for a sensible buyer. Did you trade it in Alan.

Congratulations on the new car. Hope you enjoy it.

Yes, Steve I traded it in for what I think was a good price. I did offer it on the forum but no one contacted me and I didn't want three cars on the go at once.

Thanks for your message. I'm sure I will enjoy it. I'll put some pics up once I've given it a good polish.

Alan, will you be getting the JTD remapped? Any other mods on the horizon? smile

Which garage did you trade-in the coupé Alan? Just curious as I fancy buying a standard, well looked after example and then modding it to within an inch of its life and beyond! You know the sort of thing, a wicked set of skirts, and big snarling bumper at the front, a bonnet scoop or two, mirror tinted windows, neons on the wipers, under-car neon kit, a huge alloy racing spoiler on the boot, and maybe another spoiler on the roof along with a shark fin aerial, a set of 18" blinging alloys with spinners and the suspension either slammed to the deck or hydraulic "dancing" suspension.

Oh, and the interior will be just as wicked!

I suddenly feel very alone.

very, very, alone.

Hopefully as time goes by more owners will come round to seeing the true balance of the original design, uncluttered by bodykits, skirts and wings.
A design representing a place in time. Best appreciated as such, with out being dragged kicking and screaming into the future.
No cosmetic surgery required here please.
I'll let you know when "removing side skirts" gets its place on the HOW TO section.

I know it could be a long (and lonely) wait !!!

Alan I wish you all the very best for the future.
Enjoy the beautiful Alfa.

Tim...very alone...Sandy cry

I'm going to try.
But stepping into Alans slippers shoes is a tough job especially for someone who types with one finger and uses a dictionary.

Only time will tell.
Alan has kindly past on to me his (standard) pipe, flat cap and string back driving gloves.
SO...If you post in the styling section..I will be watching! laugh

Dont worry buddy, you're not alone laugh

As Alan knows I have a factory standard wine red 20vt that I'm currently returning to mint condition (very slowly). Im just waiting for a wine red car for breaking banghead It'll be staying 100% factory fresh having now decided to try to make it one of the best standard examples.

It's very sad to see you go Alan. I had a look at the pictures of your car in your thread and it truely is/was amazing.

There is an Angel remap which takes it up to 195bhp/265lb/ft for £250 or so which is tempting. The standard car is wickedly quick though and I'd be worried about the extra strain on the drivetrain. No other mods planned except maybe this:
woohoo

I like your style, sandytim. The mantle of standard bearer (think about it!) for the no mods brigade is now in safe hands.......yours!

Seriously, though, thanks for all the kind messages. It is much appreciated.
