finally got my 1999 spec 20v T up & running. Bought it with a knackered engine. Old engine had spun a BE shell resulting in the piston crown hammering itself of the head LOL.

Got given another engine. Fitted new w/pump + belt & tensioners. Set valve timing with Protractor & clock gauge. Dont need bloody silly tool. Did a leakdown which proved engine to be very strong (only 15% leakage)

Put the flywheel in the lathe & ripped load of heavy steel from the flywheel & then balanced it.

Went to fit the oil breather tank (above stater) and my block had a core plug in the block. It transpired i had a Lancia Kappa engine !!!!!!!!

Removed core plug, machined a male pipe to fit into the block & mounted into oil breather tank.

It then transipres the sump / dip stick & engine mount are all different. Had to remove cambelt again to remove & refit coupe engine mount.

Finally found the correct length of MAN oil filter. Thanks goodness Kevin @ Dingbro knows he stuff.

Fitted the rack first, & then the engine & subframe. The clutch slave cylinder has an curclip behind the rubber boot, if you remove the clip the cylinder slides back thus giving access to the 3 securing bolts on bracket.

Filled engine with 10-40w, ran engine until luke warm & then dumped oil & replaced filter

Filled engine with 10-40w & oil flush and ran until coolant fans cut in. Drained oil & replaced filter.

Filled engine with Prolong & 10-40w silkelene

MOT on Friday

Good luck with the MOT, I'm sure it'll breeze through with all the effort you've put into it smile

Cheers for that. The car was abandonded on the side of the A9 (North of Perth from a WEEK !!) by its previous owner due to engine problem. I was totally shocked that it was still even there !! Luckly i have a good friend in Perth who went out to look at the car for me. Anyway a deal was struck, bought the car without even seeeing it LOL. The car was deliveried to me on the back of a transporter. Inside was very clean Black leather, refurbs alloys, recent clutch & 2 week old NEW turbo and a book full of previous bills and 69k on the clock. My mate needed his 205 Mi16 track car finishing , so i got paid in 'Fiat 20v Turbo engines' no vat to pay to Mr Brown you see LOL. Its not been easy getting her back to her former glory. This thing would make the pope swear at times, BUT well worth it. My first every coupe, very impressed.

I,ve got another 20v T engine in bits all lightened & balanced, what i,m going todo with this i dont know.

Wonder if i can find a broken Plus or LE LOL

Thanks to James for letting me buy his Mint car from him & Gordon (my employee) who has stayed back late most nights to help me bolt here together.

ANdy
