Its probably about time I come clean . . .

I was driving into work last thursday, bath road - heathrow, just came off the jolly wagnor roundabout. A bus decided to cut across two lanes, the car infront of me broke suddenly, i did the same, unfortunatly my car didnt stop in time, i skidded and swerved to avoid the car infront and as a result went into the side of the bus and clipped the car infront anyway! Luckily no one was hurt but my car is no more frown

The police came and shut the road and dragged my poor coupe into the bus stop - The police explained while it wasnt directly my fault, because i went into the car and bus the insurance will insist I take responsibility as I should have stopped in time.

Im so so gutted, ive worked so hard to get my car to the way it was and now its written off. Suspension is all twisted, rad is gone, part of the chassis is bent, its just beyond economical repair. Ive stripped off what i can salvage for the car and will be saving up for my dream LE - but what with a new house now and xmass just round the corner its going to take me a long time.

click to enlarge click to enlarge click to enlarge

I wont be getting a penny for my car as 5 months ago i changed my insurance to third party. The 20v NA book price is only about 800 quid and they wanted £1700 and i just couldnt afford that.

Im so so Gutted - I saw 4 Coupes today frown

Hi mate,

really sorry to hear it! I had a swerve to avoid accident about 2 years ago now but luckily there were police witnesses and the other party turned right where he wasn't allowed to whilst cutting across my path. It was a horrible time for me due to how much I loved the car, very stressful!
I said id return with an LE but a few weeks later I got another nice looking 20vt. If I'm honest ownership hasn't been the same as I realise how easily it can be taken from you after all the care and time you put into it.

Keep your head up things are often not nearly as bad as they seem and maybe it'll turn out better for you if you do manage to get your hands on that LE.

Cheers
John

Mate I know your pain, trust me! I'm a bit luckier in the sence that I think I should be ok proving my accident last week wasn't my fault... Anyways, im really gutted for you dude, I'm sure you can make some money from breaking it (even though that will be gutting it may have to be done) depending on what happens with mine I'd take the le skirts for starters...

Chin up mate !

Totally gutted for you Mario. I really liked your car and the effort you obviously put into it.

I would not show the photo with the HID balast in it to your insurer if I were you.

That's real lump in throat time. Not surprised it's taken a few days to post on here and "make it real".

Stan will be along soon to say that the main thing is that it was only metal damaged - and he's right, of course. Feeling the pain, though.

Sorry to hear this Mario. It has to be hard after all the time and effort you put into your 20v, it was a lovely looking example.

I know how you feel, my pristine coupe was sandwitched last january from some white van man driving way to close to stop in time. Total write off and the insurance is still deciding liability even though it was obviously his fault!! frown

Just don't buy a coupe too fast afterwards, my problem now is that I rushed out to get another one because I missed not having one. I didn't take enough care though and now I am stuck with a car that has loads of problems that need fixing and rubbish paintwork & body.

Some people have said to be just get a new car this time but to be honest there isnt another car i like as much as the coupe unless we talk ferrari money. The other reason why i want to get another one is this place, the club and all the people who make it. Its a great community and im proud to be a part of it.

Thanks for all your positive comments - it means a lot!

Given you are not claiming on the insurance for your car, presumably it is yours? The wheels etc must be worth a few quid?

I see plenty of Coupés each year and this car was one of those that I considered to be amongst the nicest Coupes out there.

Absolutely gutted to see it wrecked suicide

Mario that's such a shame.

When I read you were only thrird party insurance I thought Noooo what a plonka but your absolutely right, the coupe is now ten a penny and insurance will cost you more than the value of the car, especially when you add on the excess, plus the fact that they would write it off anyway if the chassis is twisted.

On the plus side, coupe's are ten a penny and you will find a nice replacement smile

Whilst you still have access to the car, take all the good bits of her and get ready to beautify the next one.
