I didnt like the review i think the price was miss leading. No way would you get a coupe like that for 2k. I think it will just attract more of the wrong crowd..... Run it into the ground and then scrap it.
Thats just my opinion anyway. You're right. It would probably cost ANOTHER 2k on top to get it to that sort of level.

Right guys lets get this right,it was my coupe its standard with no engine mods the skirts are Postert.I had the minimal of input, because the scripts were allready done, but i told them in no uncertain way about the costs for cambelt replacement as they were going to use the old Fiat one of engine comes out.As far as the price of coupes for sale the average is about 2k just look at cars for sale as i said mine is standard with no expensive mods.but she did look . Jonny said to me that if he had his own way he would spend half the programme doing the reviews.Sorry to all who are not Porto afficianados, but thanks for all the nice comments.

Thats just my opinion anyway. You're right. It would probably cost ANOTHER 2k on top to get it to that sort of level. I hate to be the realist here but totally sorted 20VT with jobs done is not worth anymore than 2k or so. It's not ammune to the market. At the end of the day its an old rather fragile, expensive to run, insure and maintain Fiat. I have to say it but I laugh at some of the figures that are bandied about here. Yes it may have had thousands spent on it, yes it may be in great condition, yes it might be one of the best in the country, but in the realworld that makes very little difference to the market. If it did I'd be spending £2500 on a showroom finish paintjob and sitting back in the knowledge my coupe was now worth a whole load more than it is now. Fact is all it would do is make it easier to sell for maybe £500 or so more than I'd get for it now. Might get £2500 for it rather than £1500 and that would be on a good day. In saying that there's a sucker born everyday and most hope they'll be our buyer. But that aside £2k for a nice sorted coupe is IMO just about the money. Come back in ten or fifteen years and you might be looking at £5k, but in the 20 odd years I've been buying 2nd hand cars Parkers and the like have never been that far off the mark when it comes to pricing. That said unlike the TG coop article, 5G did it proud.

Anyone ever seen a Ferrari in Porto Noo! Well even Ferrari aren't perfect! Dont worry, you can buy Ferrari's in lots of different colours so if you do mince there is a colour out there for you. http://pistonheads.com/sales/1087233.htm

That said unlike the TG coop article, 5G did it proud. Ditto. If Top Gear were told to do a review, they probably would have done something like this and then driven the car off a cliff.

Well done solas , I think the portopinko looked great, nice and fresh. A speed red would have been a bit too 'ferrari, esk'. but the bodykit was a NO NO NO !! I thought they wanted a standard coupe ? Sorry solas you've got a great car there but stick all that useless plastic in the nearest skip !!

Henry Ford once said: "Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants so long as it is black." Fiat should have said: "Any customer can have a Coupe painted any colour that he wants so long as it is Portofino blue." We would never have these pointless, endless 'best Coupe colour' arguments.

Apparently that whole any colour aslong as its black is a myth. I rem JC on QI blowing that myth wide open IIRC.

JKD, organise a poll for the best colour. Then the one with the most votes will officially be the best colour coop to own. Period.
