that's impressive, shell should use your car in their marketing campaigns!
I've never used anything BUT v-power, and I get about 350 with not many motorway miles, and I usually fill up again before the light comes on, at my convenience rather than the car's.

V-Power is £1.09 here so it would definitely be worth it for those kind of gains.

Think V-power has a higher calorific value. I get better than normal fuel economy with it and slighty worse than normal using E5 (which has a lower calorific value).

I always use V-Power & mine runs very well on it - the best fuel I've used to date anyway. There must be more power available from the same quantity of fuel ergo you need less to accelerate over various surfaces e.g. hills etc? I would think it has better cleaning properties as well. Was the oil cooler a "high performance" one or was it a standard new unit??

i average 330 - 350 miles per tank with mixed driving. which is exactly the same as before i started using optimax/v-power, so no gains for me other than (i hope) the much vaunted cleaning of the engine...

I have been using BP 97 and my mile per tank is around 250ish. I am filling up tonight with V power and hope to see the gains most of you are enjoying. If not the car might have to go...

what if you mix half with normal and half v-power? I do this. Run your tank down to the light, then brim it with V-Power. Run it down to about half and then brim with normal 95RON. Then alternate between the two every half a tank. To me it feels like you get the same performance and 'feel' as V-Power without the cost. Not sure about economy though.

or you could just fill up with standard super....
Lol I just worked out that by having 30l of standard and 30l of vpower I can save a whole 30p over 60l of super if i use tesco or loss 30p if I use Sainsburys.

Hmm.
I have been using Optmiax as it was, V Power now since my second car 3+ Years ago. The car feels completely transformed imo more so on a N/A 2.0 16v lump but still.
Worth every penny better fuel economy, supposed cleaning etc etc.
V Power all the way home

I've always used the stuff. If you get a v-power card and clock up shell points Shell send you money off coupons for petrol in the post.

Very odd... I've tried both and it's the standard fool goes better in my non-turbo. I'd buy V power like a shot if it worked better on mine but as I say wierdly it's the other way around. Cheaper for me though.
The main reason I think the above is because I like the noticeable power surge at 4k rpm and the next one a little further up. These seem to disappear with V Power.
But on deflection....... tudutedududu...
Is it because the Vpower is filling in power steps with buckets of gorgeous torque? In uver words, instead of eroding me power peaks, V Power may ashley be filling me power dips.
Any experts know the answer to this one?

Ive noticed aswell that if you run the car for a few weeks on vpower and then cant find a shell to fill up again and fill it with something like texeco 95 it runs rough as nails. Until you fill it back up with vpower. Obviously the fcu notices the diffrent octane but sure runs rough to me.

[and again in english please.... With normal unleaded my 20v NA exhibits a power step at around 4000 revs and another at 6000 rpm. These surges in power are much less noticeable when the car is fueled with V-Power. My question is whether this is because the V-power is reducing the surges of power felt by me at these rev points, or, alternatively, boosting the 'base' power level so the power steps are less pronounced.

Any more thoughts on Vpower as opposed to Tesco and Morrisons finest 95ron?
Just had my thermostat changed and noticed an increase from average 250 to 350 miles per tank!
Not sure if any performance increase though.
After a couiple of tankfuls of VPower, checked 50-90mph in fifth gear using Vbox, and results the same as I got using Tesco's 95 grade. However Shell were giving away a free model Ferrari with every purchase over £50. Shame the tankful cost me £60 last summer.
