Did you win it?

Make sure the aux belts get changed at the same time as the cam.
Other than that you get what you pay for, but fingers crossed you have found a good one.

right, it was from Kevin

and to quote

"Its obviously been clocked, leaking boot, mismatched colour panels, overspray on rear quarter. Manifold cracked and generally well cared for unfotunately.

Seller wasted a trip for me."

here was it listed last time around

i'm not sure about ebay mate, but if the goods are not as described (within reason) i'd be walking away regardless and to hell with the consequences.

keep your money in your pocket and wait for a suitable one to come up on here - you might pay a bit more but you can pretty much check it's history and, to an extent, the history of the seller.

i've seen an old phrase on here recently that rings true; buy cheap, pay twice.... wink

the rear bumper in the background is not a good sign mate. with the damage im being told its got, sounds like its been in a rear end shunt.

i can only tell you what i have been told, but there must be a reason its been floating about on ebay for quite a few weeks now.

its your choice what you do now, now you have some direct questions to ask him it may be worth giving him a call and directing some very blunt questions his way

that said, i wouldn't bother, email him, tell him you have been told its not as described and walk away with 1k in your pocket mate. as said before there are some very good coupes on here.

What ever you get for 1k is going to need some attention so don't be under any illusion about that, but with the stuff on here at least you stand a fair chance of all the known faults being disclosed.

elmof1 has a porto on here thats as honest as they come. the only reason he is selling is he has just got a LE. its over your budget of 1k, but its only a few 100 over.

you can see the blatant color difference on this photo, just look at the rear quarter panel

to further sams point above - to pay a few hundred over for a sorted example is actually going to save you money in the long run, as the one off ebay already needs hundreds spending on it from sight, let alone what horrors lurk under the bonnet.. shocked

anyway, enough said - i just know you'll make the right decision. where are you based? we can all look out for decent examples

I stupidly bidded on a yellow 20v turbo not expecting to win (i thought it would go for a much higher price) and was shocked when i received the you have won this item emails from ebay, i found out from this forum that the turbo was fccuked as well as other issues so obviousely panicked a bit, i managed to squirm my way out of it depsite him opening up a dispute, in the end he got his seller fees refunded, try to go down that route and you should be ok otherwise you might have to buy a money pit of a coupe frown best of luck mate
