I'm now 40 and it's the fifth year I've insured the coupe and it's gone down every year There's not much else I can say that about. Started at £430, now £280 (including about £30 for a strut-brace). If I keep it long enough... Being old(er) does have some advantages

I'm 23 with loads of mods on my coupe, well into group 20. I only passed my test 2 and a half years ago, full NCB so far I could not haggle down my quote because Adrian Flux were the only people who would provide one, needs two or more to play off each other Anyway, they have made over £2000 off me so far for about 10 minutes work

Cor, £1000.. How many mods have you got m4tty1?! I'm also 28, and it cost just £330 to insure my 16vt..
Puts me off modding!
Also, MattW, have you tried the same company getting a quote for fully comp? Sounds silly, but TPFT was actually £30 more expensive than fully comp with my insurer..

Yes, that was an extra £600 on top, which puts their confidence in me at about 1 in 6 chance of writing it off. Thanks, but no thanks.

Yes. However, companies like Admiral and More Than won't insure you with such modifications, even though it was a factory fitment on the LE which is exactly the same car apart from a few cosmetic changes Obviously, I'm hooning around corners at twice the speed

My insurance was up for renewal in Sept and no other Insurance Co would quote me (I'm in Ireland) Even my current insurer won't quote the 20vt as a new customer. I only get insurance as an existing customer. I'm 31, driving 7 years, with 7 years NCB and no claims whatsoever. My insurance is €1,150 or Stg£900 in your money

My renewal came through the other day, £475 for my modded 16vt. I'm 26 and will have 4 years no claims if i make it couple more weeks to renewal.
The quote is about £100 less than last year so i'm happy to just accept it rather than go through the fuss of calling round everyone listing all my mods.
