For how easy it is to remove the calipers the painting will be made even easier.
I will be removing mine.

I actually painted the yellow ones in-situ, but they looked cack close up \:\( . The orangey ones were part of a complete refurbishment, and looked \:# when I'd finished them. Best to remove them IMHO ;\) .

Definitely go for red Wilky.

I took mine off when I did them a couple of years ago and it makes it so much easier. They're not difficult to get off but you'll need something to blank off the brake pipes so you don't lose all your fluid and you may find that the hard pipes to the calipers are ready for replacement when you try to remove them.

Here's a couple of other pictures from when I did mine.

What would you guys recommend to use to paint if leaving the calipers in-situ to paint them (I've used halfords high temp paint before and it bubbled when it got hot on my 1.2 bravo!)

Halfords high temp paint works well and not had any problems before. Yours probably bubbled due to not having enough prepping on the surface.

Might give it a go with the brush then, I'd thought about that at the start TBH.

I used this paint from US Automotive.

It's not the cheapest but did give an excellent finish that still looks good 2 years on. I stripped back all of the old paint and used this straight onto the metal. Then I used some of the clear high temp paint from the same people to lacquer the calipers after I'd fitted the Brembo decals.

Me too. \:D I've also done sets in just normal paint with halfords petrol resistant lacquer over the top and they've been fine, but the VHT stuff is a pretty nice colour of red. I found it a bit of a pain to apply though, but then I'm crap at that sort of thing.

I think I'll do my next set in yellow.

Sorry to butt in on this one. I bought a completly reconditioned set of red Brembo's, they put the white brembo stickers on and I need to laquer them to ensure they don't come off. Im after clear MATT high temp laquer though and I can't seem to find any.

Has anybody done this before?
