gonna keep this short as after buying a gt4!! decided the coupe will be the one to go on a 1000mile roadtrip and laps on the famous nurburgring in germany. am taking passengers and the coupe vs gt4 is roomier marginally quicker easier to drive lighter and less noisy!! but isnt better in the twisties so heres my plan. 1- wider toyo t1r's 225 45 16 s at camskill £270 delivered 2-std power as its first time and all[reliability factor] 3- front disc and pad set up ??? up to £150 unfitted?? 4-handling mods?? dampers and rear arb? std springs? or lowering springs rear arb front strut bar? bearing in mind most of the journey will be fully laden needs to be better on track but not too harsh for passengers. heard the pagid yellow pads would be ideal but what discs would work better than std? how would i get on with a rear arb and front strut brace and leave std shocks and springs?? many thanks guys appreciate your input i shall be ordering bits and getting fitted in the following weeks and planned visit end of august beginning of september.. m.j
Get a strut brace and also Nigels lower subframe brace.
I fitted both at the same time and the car has gone from feeling like a flappy wet fish to a taut, poised animal around the twisties, just need some better seats now
It's also much more stable under hard braking, and accelleration.
It feels like the suspension is now soaking up all the bumps rather than the frame of the car absorbing some of the shock.
